Answer:	Yes. These are made to be used on your dinning table. Absolutely safe. Of course, due care should be observed around children.
Question:	Can I use a votive candle instead of stereo
Answer:	This rechaud was designed for a much larger pot and a votive candle will not generate enough heat for such a large pot. A votive candle may melt a small amount of chocolate for a chocolate fondue (in a smaller pot), but it will not generate enough heat for a cheese or oil/broth fondue.
Question:	Does a standard sized 2-2.5 hour Sterno can fit in this
Answer:	We are able to use the large Sterno cans...however, it's unfortunate that this fondue stand, although of high quality, it comes with a rather cheap alcohol burner with no "screen gauze" insert, only an empty burner. We were able to us the burner from an old set and always use denatured alcohol, rather than the Sterno The Sterno would work OK for cheese fondue, but for a meal with meat and veggies it does not keep the oil hot enough...that has been our experience. We probably do fondue a dozen times or more during the winter. Enjoy.

Answer:	The dial on the unit does not show the temperatures, but the booklet says the the maximum temperature is about 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Answer:	I am not certain if Nostalgia sells additional pots; however, I am sure you can sibstitute one of your own pots of a similar size. I would recomend not using one with a handle, since it may get in the way.

Answer:	The width at the widest point is 12" (including the handle) x width of pot 8 1/4" x depth 3" (approx.). As to the weight, I'm estimating at around 5 pounds but I may be a little high. It may be closer to 4 pounds. I don't have a scale to measure it on so I just judged it against a 5 lb bag of flour

Answer:	Yes, I have used the Lugano fondue pot for both cheese fondue and beef fondue. It can also be used for the chocolate fondue, but I prefer a smaller pot that doesn't get quite as hot because too much heat affects the texture and taste of good chocolate.

Answer:	Yes.....it even gets hot enough to melt fossilized Mastadon tusks and Giant Sloth molars which I use in my Neanderthal stew.

Question:	Can you light alcohol or paraffin instead of gel
Answer:	The space provided for burning the fuel is empty/hollow. You could put anything in it that is safe for table top liquid or gel fuel. I would only use the type fuel which is specifically for table top flame.. There is a way to regulate the air which regulates the flame size. The receptacle for the fuel is made of metal. It would be safe for fuels that are designated table top flames for burners. I cannot answer the question about paraffin.
Question:	Can you use the pot separately? On the stove or in the oven
Answer:	The fondue pot is enameled cast iron. You begin the fondue by melting the cheese and seasoning it in this pot on the stove top. Then when it is melted, and seasoned, you move it to the table top burner. I imagine it would function as an oven pot just the way all enameled cast iron pots do....but not for cheese fondue, of course.
