Takes a few tries to optimize roti-making (watch YouTube videos, they help to hone in the skills); I can now make rotis much quicker and easier (more like in one-fourth of the time compared to end-to-end manual operation, from raw flour to rotis). This appliance can and will make good rotis once you master the skills required. Answer:	Lefse are similar to crepes it is a Norwegian traditional potato flatbread similar to a thick crepe I have not done it the only items you add is the potatoes. I believe you would not have any problem by making them. I used mine and it was great. I also made the Spanish Galician crepes and they were great.

Start by making your masa dough according to the instructions on the package. For this example, we'll use Maseca: just mix 2 cups of Maseca, 1.25 cups of water, and a pinch of salt. Mix the dough until it has the consistency of Play Dough. Once ready, separate the dough into 16 small balls about 1.25 inch wide.

Setting up the plates

Pro tip! Cut a zip-top disposable plastic bag along the corners to make two square plastic sheets (usually the sandwich size is perfect). Place one of the plastic sheets on the bottom plate. Place a ball of dough slightly off-center, towards the closing hinge. Place the second plastic square on top. *(If you do not have zip-top bags, cling wrap or parchment paper can work too).

Press!

Close the top plate. The weight of the plate will help you press down, and the lever will help you finish the press firmly. Not too much force is necessary.

Peel and separate

Open the press, place the plastic covered tortilla on one hand, & peel off the top plastic with the other hand. Flip the tortilla over onto your other hand and now peel back the second plastic square. Answer:	Not thin enough to make a truly flexible or traditionally thin tortilla. You have to do it by hand to get a really thin tortilla.

Answer:	the plates are 8" the size of the tortilla depends on the amount of dough you use and the amount of pressure you apply though. sue kidd

Answer:	i don't know what you are trying to make. But the tortilla maker is made for tortillas and only as a preheat so that you can peel them off the hot plate easily and put them on a hot pan to cook them. I imagine if you place a thick tortilla you can press it down until you spread it. Sure once you put your masa on the plate you just press and press until you spread the masa out. You can open the top plate and then press again if your masa did not spreed properly.
Question:	Can I order an extra 3.5" cutter for this machine
Answer:	Yes they do -- just don't try to max out the real estate. Also, try this: Instead of a ball, make a cylinder of dough with a ratio of circumference by 1 and length by 3 (a weenie). Lay it down parallel to the hinge and handle and press. Not exactly round but more even.

As far as I am concerned tortilla maker needs to be from Mexico since they know what its supposed to do. This is great quality and very nice and heavy duty. You will love it. They sometimes have a yellow tint and sometimes are grey color from the factory as you can see from the pictures. Since these are imported from Mexico we don't have control over what color we will get. Thank you

Answer:	I have 3 containers consisting of 2 sizes. I would surely think there wouldn't be a problem holding at least 16 oz of elbow pasta for the 4.7 cup size. I'm not sure about 2 lbs, but it should be close.
