Answer:	It still gets a bit hot underneath, so I would suggest putting a towel under it.

Answer:	I used this on another ironing pad for sewing and it did get very warm underneath. It did leave some quilting marks. For small seams while sewing, not a problem if padded, but for ironing an entire shirt, you could hurt your finished table. Suggest padding with folded sheet and using an area that is not the dining room table. I did like the silicone pad for the iron. It actually would be more useful as a rectangle vs an iron shape.

Question:	Is this any different from using a thick towel
Answer:	Depending on how thick your towel is.... if it is already doing the job of protecting the surface from burning.... I guess it is the same. The problem with the towel is that the thickness allows indentations when pressing the iron against the iron-on. With the mat, there is give.
Question:	Does the top fabric slide independently of the bottom fabric or are they attached together all the way through
Answer:	Hello, My guess is independent...one side has a scored impression and the other solid. Please be careful..do not use this on your counters or any other surface without at least two towels underneath. I never notice the damage - moisture got through - build up - and faded my walnut countertop. I folded it, added the towel, and it still faded the countertop. I informed the company, and they offered to give me a refund if I retracted my review. I thanked them, but admitted I could not do that, but told them them could keep the money, as they sent me a gift which I did not keep.

Answer:	No, I never had an issue, but as a precaution I would never leave unattended. Great item for someone with small spaces, or for travel.

Answer:	Yes! Fuseable webbing for applique was one of the reasons I purchased it. I was used a cotton setting on my iron and had zero problems. As a bonus, it came with a heat shield mesh presser " cloth" and because I had neglected to bond the piece to be appliqued before I cut it out, I was afraid I might have a little fringe of the webbing that could stick to my iron. Answer:	I never use steam so I can’t answer that. I just use it as a dry iron and if I need moisture I use a spray bottle.
