Installation Highlights!
1. Have 16"-on-center studs in the wall.
2. Cut a rectangle out of your wall.
3. Set the cabinet inside the cutout.
4. Secure the cabinet to the studs (wood or metal is fine, but we only provide hardware for wood).
Can this be mounted to the wall instead of in it?
No. This cabinet must be installed into the wall. That's how to support the unit against the force and torque of opening and using the swivel ironing board!

Height adjust even after installation.
Board opens 10" above the bottom of the cabinet, so adjust your cabinet cutout to fit the height you want!
Note: If Cutout = 25" off the floor, then board will be approx. 36-38" high.
Then, once it's installed, the board can be lifted 2" higher thanks to the innovated inside height adjust! Just grab the board on either side near the back and lift it along the glides.
Right and left-handed comfort.
The Stow Away ironing board rotates 90 degrees to the right and to the left. Tighten or loosen how easily it swivels by adjusting the nut on the underside of the board.
Note: Needs 60" of horizontal wall space for full range of motion.

Cut a hole into the wall.
Cut a hole in the wall--between 16"-on-center studs--that is that is 46.25" tall x 14.25".
Choose the height of the cutout based on where you want the board to open. Board opens 10" above the bottom of the cabinet, or about 9" above the bottom of the cutout.
Set cabinet into cutout.
Before putting the cabinet in, pre drill the holes on the frame where the door will install.
Then, carefully lift cabinet into cutout, setting the cabinet into the bottom first, then pushing the cabinet flush into the hole.
Secure cabinet to framing studs.
Secure the cabinet to the frame studs. Screw right under the shelves.
Hardware for wood studs is included. For metal studs, please visit your local hardware store for the right screws!
Install the door!
Attach hinges to the door. Lift and align the door with the holes you drilled into the cabinet frame. (Best with 2 people!) Screw the hinges to the cabinet to attach the door.

A specialty board with sleek design, the Iron-A-Way Iaw42 features a 42 inch fold away ironing board inside a quality made cabinet that is unmatched. The 42 inch hideaway ironing board is made of rigid, solid ventilated steel, and features an undercarriage that was custom designed for ironing. The board is supported by a single telescoping steel leg, providing outstanding stability. When access inside studs is problematic, this IAW42FWU is intended to be surface mounted directly to a stud in the wall, but can also fit between the studs for Recessed mounting providing a flush or nearly flush appearance depending upon installation. The Iaw42 is designed and crafted with the same quality materials as other Iron-A-Way models without iron storage and is ideal for installation with a nearby electrical Outlet and iron storage.
