Question:	The picture looks gray, but the color description is "cafe". Is it gray or more tan
Answer:	There is elastic at the base of the pad that holds it in place there is also a velcro strap 10 11 inches from the bottom to hold in place. If you just lay the pad near the back end but not wrapped it would be a sloppy fit I think. However, the velcro strap is located in 3 places on the undersize, it could work but that back end fit would likely be annoying. The pad itself is very nice.

Answer:	No. All our ironing boards, as advertised, are made 100% in the United Kingdom by Minky Homecare.
Question:	The iron rest has small rubber-like piece on the inner area, exactly where the iron plate will rest. Will they melt onto the iron plate
Answer:	I have set my hot iron on the iron rest several times without causing the rubber piece to melt however, I've only left it there while adjusting the item I am ironing, so less than 30 seconds. I would not leave the hot iron on the iron rest for extended periods.
Question:	Is it easy to open and close? My Mother has arthritic hands
Answer:	The board doesn't lock when you close it. So hanging it is an issue. Would have been an easy fix but they missed it.
Question:	is the top metal mesh
Answer:	Yes typical top with the stretched metal mesh. What is nice is the top, pad, iron rest and the feet. This is solid and stable. Well worth it if you iron. I don't use the steam platform but maybe someday???

Question:	The iron holder seems to be made of plastic. Is it meant to hold the hot iron while in use
Answer:	It will hold an iron in progress, resting on the "heel" of it of course. It is made of a heavy duty plastic, but will definitely hold an iron placed on the "heel" while hot. That part of the board will also hold a stack of flat items while ironing. It is very stable!
Question:	What is the actual Dimensions of board in inches without the holder or wings out
Answer:	It's 47" long, end to tip (without the plastic holder). It's 18" wide & begins to narrow toward the (rounded) tip 33" from the end. All corners are rounded. The wings are useful in some situation. It's a partial solution to a minor annoyance & we'd replace it if it disappeared. It's reasonably sturdy, but we haven't tested the stability with children or pets.
