Installation Highlights!

1. Have 16"-on-center studs in the wall.

2. Cut a rectangle out of your wall.

3. Set the cabinet inside the cutout.

4. Secure the cabinet to the studs (wood or metal is fine, but we only provide hardware for wood).

Can this be mounted to the wall instead of in it?

No. This cabinet must be installed into the wall. That's how to support the unit against the force and torque of opening and using the swivel ironing board!

Check out our Iron 'n Fold Cabinet for an option that you attach to the wall (it sits on the floor).

Height adjust even after installation.

Board opens 10" above the bottom of the cabinet, so adjust your cabinet cutout to fit the height you want!

Note: If Cutout = 25" off the floor, then board will be approx. 36-38" high.

Then, once it's installed, the board can be lifted 2" higher thanks to the innovated inside height adjust! Just grab the board on either side near the back and lift it along the glides.

The Stow Away ironing board rotates 90 degrees to the right and to the left. Tighten or loosen how easily it swivels by adjusting the nut on the underside of the board.

Cut a hole in the wall--between 16"-on-center studs--that is that is 46.25" tall x 14.25".

Choose the height of the cutout based on where you want the board to open. Board opens 10" above the bottom of the cabinet, or about 9" above the bottom of the cutout.

Set cabinet into cutout.

Before putting the cabinet in, pre drill the holes on the frame where the door will install.

Then, carefully lift cabinet into cutout, setting the cabinet into the bottom first, then pushing the cabinet flush into the hole.

Secure cabinet to framing studs.

Secure the cabinet to the frame studs. Screw right under the shelves.

Hardware for wood studs is included. For metal studs, please visit your local hardware store for the right screws!

Install the door!

Attach hinges to the door. Lift and align the door with the holes you drilled into the cabinet frame. (Best with 2 people!) Screw the hinges to the cabinet to attach the door.

Answer:	Yes, it can. The rivets (not crimped bolts) that hold the iron holder on are easily drilled out. Took me all of 5 min to completely remove the iron holder and there was zero damage to the ironing board itself. I can also re-install it using rivets or screws very easily if I choose to.
Question:	Are replacement covers available yet
Answer:	In its highest position the ironing surface is 38" above floor level. It is well-made, and if you have a bad back you will love how easily it clicks into position when you are setting it up. Best ironing board I've ever used.

Answer:	Yes, but most studs are 16 inches apart, so I used a 2x4 to mount to the studs (through the drywall), then mounted the ironing board frame to the 2x4. It is now very stable.

Question:	I'm a fine dining waiter so i am constantly ironing shirts and pants. is it big enough to do this? would i be better off getting a full sized board
Answer:	I would definitely recommend a full size ironing board for ironing your shirts and pants. I love this little tabletop ironing board, as it is primarily designed for quick and easy small jobs. Although I iron all my clothes on it, it takes me a while to iron a long sleeve shirt and/or pants because of the small surface area. But the good news is, the padding is excellent, making for smooth ironing. And, the padding is thick, allowing it to handle the heat and steam from the iron. Overall, I am very satisfied, but for your needs you might want to go with a traditional ironing board.
Question:	If you keep the legs unfolded, will the board be stable (with no tilting side to side) and be virtually flat and steady on any suitable surface

Answer:	I use it on uneven linoleum (floor slopes to drain) in our utility room and it seems fairly stable - I think it would be stable on low pile carpet. The padding is fairly thick - but, I bought an additional silicon coated cover and use it with both pads.
