Answer:	There is a metal pin on the outside of the curved hinge, right up next to the ironing board. It might have a rubber ball thing on it. Remove the ball if it's on, and squeeze the pin up towards the ironing board and it should fold up. Keep the ball - it keeps the board from folding up accidentally. The directions say to store the ironing board point down once you have folded it.

Anyway, this $80 board is sturdy, doesn't move on my carpet, is large enough to iron large shirts, dresses, pants, you name it!!!
