Answer:	I don't know about using it that way.
Question:	What type of bottom does this wool pad have
Answer:	No, if you are making pot holders you need to use 100% cotton fabric and thread. Use the insul-bright (?) batting that’s heat resistant. I used this product to cover my sewing/cutting tables and put 100% cotton material over the top to turn my entire table into a ironing surface. Look up making pot holders on YouTube.

Answer:	I’m not sure about sustain temp. I use it for a big ironing board for my quilts. No clue if it would work for my heat press or not. I use Teflon for something like that.

Answer:	I didn't order it for the ironing board, but going on past covers I bought you will need a heat resistant batting to place under the Heat Resist Fabric. You will need to cut both the same size (being sure you allow enough space for the side of the ironing board and a small amount to place elastic or cord to be drawn up to the size of the board. Answer:	The work surface is 44 inches in length. The iron rest area is 7 1/2 inches long and about 10 inches wide.
Question:	Is the surface height really maxed out at 36”? If so that is incredibly short
Answer:	The work surface can be adjusted from 32 to about 36 inches from the floor. 36 inches is standard kitchen counter hight, I believe.

Answer:	The top is 2" or less but the feet stick out several inches. It slides perfectly inside my bedroom closet. For the small size, it's sturdy when set up. I took a picture but it doesn't appear I can load it.

Answer:	No. Irons shouldn’t have ordinary steel water reservoir either, usually stainless steel. Something is rusting inside. You’ll be better off pitching the iron before ruining anything and never leave water in an iron.

Answer:	Hello and thank you for your question. The top and bottom of our mat are identical. The mat is made of pressed wool felt. It is uniform throughout. It is a non-woven homogenous mat of proprietary composition wool fibers. Use on a water-resistant surface is recommended. The scales of the wool fiber with their waxy coating (Lanolin) stops water penetrating the fibers themselves but allows absorption of water vapor into the mat. This makes wool water-replant while at the same time allows water vapor absorption. Water vapor exists in the air as moisture and these mats will/can absorb some depending on the amount present in the air. We therefore recommend using these mats on a water-resistant surface or using a water-proof barrier between the mat and the surface you want to protect. Steam from an iron will also go through the mat as most irons these days use pressurized steam and the mat is a porous product.

Answer:	Yes, it is not noisy or crinkly...very flexible.

Answer:	No, it is not opaque or transparent. It's really not made for lamp shade covering. It's to cover ironing boards.
Question:	Is this product good for making kids lunch boxes
Answer:	When I did this, the coating lost its integrity. Prior to washing and drying, the fabric was stiff. Afterward, it was still silver, but it was thinner and draped like regular cotton fabric.
Question:	What side goes up using insulbrite when making hotpads
Answer:	Hello. Thank you for your interest and thank you for your question. We realize that this is a very important concern. Water vapor does pass through the porous wool fibers. Not just with our mat, but with all natural wool felted pressing mats. And, the air, of course contains moisture. Using the heat of an iron will concentrate that moisture. This, of course, is amplified when using steam. Therefore, we always advise using the mat on a surface that cannot be damaged by moisture and/or placing something in between the mat and the surface. Without steam, and in a very dry climate, it may be minimal, but we do not recommend chancing it with something you care about. Therefore, we try to inform customers several ways. First, we place a statement on our packaging insert that ships with every mat. Second, we email customers our Pressing Mat Care and Use Guide which has a section on this. Third, we include a hard copy of our Care and Use Guide in every mat we ship. And, of course, we address it in this Q & A section. Again, thanks for this great question.

Question:	Is this any different from using a thick towel
Answer:	Depending on how thick your towel is.... if it is already doing the job of protecting the surface from burning.... I guess it is the same. The problem with the towel is that the thickness allows indentations when pressing the iron against the iron-on. With the mat, there is give.
Question:	Does the top fabric slide independently of the bottom fabric or are they attached together all the way through
Answer:	Hello, My guess is independent...one side has a scored impression and the other solid. Please be careful..do not use this on your counters or any other surface without at least two towels underneath. I never notice the damage - moisture got through - build up - and faded my walnut countertop. I folded it, added the towel, and it still faded the countertop. I informed the company, and they offered to give me a refund if I retracted my review. I thanked them, but admitted I could not do that, but told them them could keep the money, as they sent me a gift which I did not keep.
Question:	Will this leave burn markes on wooden table
Answer:	No, I never had an issue, but as a precaution I would never leave unattended. Great item for someone with small spaces, or for travel.
Question:	Does the quilted material leave marks on the item being ironed
Answer:	No, it does not. Besides, the other side of it is flat, if you are worried about leaving marks, you can use the flat side.
