Answer:	The basket part is 13" deep. So if your laundry room door is near the corner of the wall as it opens you will have about 3" of space to open the door fully without the unit. When I put the unit on, it kept the door open a full 10" from the wall. That's a lot. I'm returning mine.

I live in an old farm house and the door frame is a bit off on the closing side so there is a little rub mark on the inside top of frame. I open and close this door daily and wouldn't be afraid to use in a newer house. It works very well for my older ironing board, iron and a few other items.

Answer:	I am not sure, but should work. My iron is 4-3/4 by 3 deep and there is still ample room for larger irons.

Answer:	I have the Rowenta Steamforce 1800W iron which the faceplate is 5 inches wide. I have the Rubbermade iron holder which is also 5 inches wide from one side to the other, but will not allow the iron to slip down into the crevice that holds it. What size iron fits in this Better Houseware iron holder and how wide is it at the side pieces that hold the iron in place? It must be wider than 5 inches at the side pieces.

Answer:	It's plenty strong, though actually attaching the ironing board can be a tad tricky. The heads on the provided screws aren't big enough to hold it. I had to got to the hardware store to buy some washers to help. (The washers cost just a few pennies each.)

Question:	Has anyone noticed that the hanger scratches the door? Curious if that's an issue
Answer:	Good question and honestly I hadn't noticed or thought to look so I went back to my closet door where I first hung the ironing board holder. No scratches there so I went to laundry room door and can see scratches from my old board holder but not this one. I don't have it bolted since I'm not sure if I will keep on laundry room door where it should be but it's a small space so I'm looking to move to hall closet. But back to answer your question I didn't notice any scuffs with this board holder.

Question:	Does anybody know how much weight this can hold? It looks perfect to hold a heavy duty backpack, but can it hold one that weighs about 30 lbs
Answer:	Eyeballing it, I suspect that the frame would hold a 30 lb backpack without issue. However, I suspect that the screws are not up to the task, at least not long term. I would suggest at least using wood screws and screwing into a stud on one side. Ideally, mount it onto a horizontal 1x4, and screw the 1x4 into 2 studs. Note - I haven't tried it with this item, just an ironing board.
Question:	When you open the door that the iron is hanging on, does the iron tend to hit/bang the door or does the holder keep it pretty set in place
Answer:	It truly took 3 years of looking before I finally found an iron and ironing board holder that does the job it is intended to do. I have an somewhat larger iron than most since I quilt, but no problem...I just put it nose-down into the holder. It is held securely and I also love this hooks over the door.
Question:	As I would like to mount this on the studs in a basement wall, can you please tell me how far apart to metal arms are
Answer:	The screws are 9-1/8" apart. You'll probably have to mount a piece of wood between or on the studs first and then attach this to that piece. Do NOT use the screws included. They are so soft, even if you pre-drill, the heads get mangled; maybe if you do screw them in by hand after pre-drilling but why bother. Like other people said, the rubber tips come off; if you want them to stay on, bend the tips out a bit and that'll take care of the problem.
Question:	Can it hold a Rowenta DW8080 iron
Answer:	No. My wife got a Rowenta DW8080 last week and bought this hanger, primarily to store the ironing board on the back of the laundry room door. The body of this Rowenta iron is too deep to fit into the iron slot. It's a sturdy hanger, which makes it really hard to bend the iron holder section. We were afraid we'd break it if we tried to bend it too hard.

Question:	Can I drill this into back of door
Answer:	There are 4 small holes where it looks like you can drill screws into it, I don't remember if it came with the hardware to do that. If it did I wouldn't have used it because it works well just hanging over the door.
Question:	Can I place the iron on the stand while it's hot. I'm concerned about the starch that would be in the caddy, and the heat damging my basement door
Answer:	The caddie itself is heat proof but anything else to close to a hot iron could be risky. I just wait a little while for the iron to drop in temperature before putting it away. Better safe than sorry.
Question:	My iron is 6" deep from front to back. Will this hold it

Question:	Could you please tell me what the dimensions of the basket are? Overall width and depth, as well as depth for the iron as it appears to be tapered out
Answer:	overall basket width 16". expanded section in middle 8"wide, adequate for iron depth - 5" from wall. rest of basket 3.5". basket top to bottom 6". However, I didn't feel the two screws at opposite ends of basket were enough for weight of iron and ironing board - I added 2 additional screws/screw anchors equally spaced out for extra support under top rail of basket

Answer:	Not sure but I would look at reviews there is a picture of an ironing board with wide legs in the holder, I think and it probably depends on the dimensions. I would measure the distance apart that the legs are.
