I plan to 'seal' the entire 'cut area', BEFORE cutting the new bottom, with super glue or somesuch so the threads don't come loose (from my new bottom portion and the new top-for-another-use). Then, move the roll-up string off of the blinds, trim (middle of the glued area), replace the string. Maybe secure-glue the cut areas again. Anyone have any cautions about this plan?
