Inside mount(No valance)

Optional top installation. Easy to install. If you add Valance will provide more blackout. Shade width is the total width including all bracket which takes up 0.53”on each side, so the actual fabric width will be about 1.06" smaller, it will let light come in from the top(with valance is not)and both sides if you choose inside mount.

Outside Mount(No valance)

If you want more blackout, you can choose Outside mount. Please add both 3'' to the width and height to cover the window to provide more blackout. Not suitable for OUTDOOR installation.

Answer:	I'm unclear on your question. this is a shade, not curtain. You get rid of any curtains you currently have and this is mounted inside the window (we have a deep set picture window where we mounted ours). We gave it an extra 1/2 inch in length and didn't need too. They are very precise on their measurements.

Please check if your window depth is more than 2.3'', so that the brackets can install inside of the frame. If not, please choose Outside mount. If your window frame is too thick, please come to us for the extension brackets.

Answer:	I just bought the shade recently. If you unhook the shade from the mounts, you can raise and lower the shade manually; however, this would be difficult and cumbersome, and it is not a longterm fix. If the battery to the shade broke, you’d likely need to buy a new part from Yoolax. However, the battery to the shade is rechargeable; you literally just plug it into the wall, and I’d recommend buying the extension cord unless there is an immediately available outlet. Of note, the remote control also requires a battery which you need to buy separately, and it costs about $5. I should add that this is an amazing product, and it is 100% the future. I could not be more happy with it. With that said, there were no instructions to program the remote, and you need to watch the instruction video on Amazon. The physical installation was super easy for me, but you basically need to be an engineer to program the remote. Once it is set up properly, the product is awesome.
