Answer:	The O.D. is exactly dead on 50mm or 5cm. About 1/16th of an inch under 2". Yes they would fit almost perfectly within a 2" hole with 1/32" of free space between the outside diameter of the speaker to the inside diameter of the 2" hole... if you want to be exact about it. ;) They are about 6mm (1/4") in depth.

Answer:	For me, I had to keep one speaker off entirely, then turn one speaker on with or without it charging, and paired one, then turned that speaker off, I then turned the other one on and paired that one using the alternative name for the secondary speaker, then turn the other on, and pressed and held the play/pause on both speakers together till that chimed together and paired together, I couldn't get it to pair together while pressing play/pause on one or the other, I had to do it to both speakers together fir them to detect on my end, and now they connect automatically together when I power both on without having to pair together again.
