Answer:	No switch. It has to be unplugged

Answer:	It plugs into the wall. It has two electric contacts, one for the pump and one for the lamp. You can barely hear the motor when its on, and according to the amount of water you load, you can hear the trickling of the water or just a smooth sound. I have it in my clinic and patients love it.

Answer:	Not that I know of. I returned mine because it leaked horribly.

Question:	How many lights are there?Can they be replaced when burn out or do you trash the fountain?The lighting is half of the reason for the fountain, I think
Answer:	There is only one light ...the light on my fountain has already burnt out. I don't think it can be replaced either. The light is one of the reasons I bought the fountain but I'll probably still keep it ..it's still a nice fountain.
Question:	what batteries does it require and how many, I want to purchase for a gift and have it ready to go from the day it is recieved
Answer:	I do not believe mine have batteries.... They just run until they're not nice and shiny any longer. I ran mine at least 10 hours every night, 7 days/week and then tossed in out. To my mind, NOTHING will ever replace the Grecian Gardens Envirascape. The color reflected on the ceiling and was beautiful to hear and see.
Question:	Do you think that this fountain would be a good idea in an eleven year old girl's bedroom
Answer:	Yeah, I think that an 11 year old would love it. I would just make sure that the fountain doesn't stay too close to an electrical outlet, in case she knocks it over. The power cord is pretty long and easily could sit on a desk or a bed table far enough away from an outlet.

Answer:	It's about 8" tall and the bowl is squarish - about 6.25" each side. it does need to be kept clean. i found that a weekly cleaning with peroxide works well. (My cat uses it for beverage)

Question:	Can pets splash the water out of the fountain
Answer:	My dog and cat occasionally get into this fountain. This causes it to fall off its base, then it splashes a bit and said culprit, runs off!! This has happened a dozen or so times and the fountain is still like new. I use fake candles because of this, they work fine. My husband says he has caught the dog drinking from it too! This is ok because I dont use any of the water conditioner as this fountain needs to be refilled about twice a week, even without the help of the dog. We had it outside this summer on the deck, in those conditions it needs water everyday.
Question:	I read there is a gasket you can pull out to get more sound. Does anyone know where and how to get it out
Answer:	It is inside the tube that you attach the pump to. I pulled it out with tweezers and it does make more water noise that way but is still very quiet.
Question:	I have had other resin fountains that get stained with calcium and then the paint or outer layer peels or erodes away. How well do these hold up
Answer:	I've had it for about five months. I do not run it continuously but a few hours per week. There's been no calcium build up or peeling paint at this point.

Question:	Is there any water leak from bottom after running for a while
Answer:	The person who indicated this would heat the water has no understanding of the product and should not be answering questions. This device is a pond deicer used only to keep tiny hole open in the the ice to allow for the transfer of gases out of the pond. It will NEVER heat a pond no matter how much electricity. It ONLY turns on when the temp drops below freezing and off again once a few degrees above freezing. It only can generate enough heat to maintain a hole slightly larger than its own body. DO NOT BUY FOR A POND HEATER - Only as stated to use as a pond deicer to allow gas exchange.

Answer:	Thanks for your message. It sounds like you have had some bad luck on items that last other consumers decades. There are some inexpensive deicers on the market that are cheaply made and have a reputation for failing. However most deicers are very well made and last for many many years. I suggest either the Farm Innovators (except the PS200) or the Easy Pro brand. the one in this listing is a submersible deicer which sits underwater in the shallow edge of the pond. you still need to protect the area from high winds which can freeze the water almost instantly at very cold temperatures.The way to test a deicer is to put it in a plastic bag in your freezer for 1 hour. Once you take it out plug it in and it should start to heat up immediately. It was learned the hard way over many years that most customers who claim to have failed deicers just dont have it set up correctly. When they are forced to do the "freezer test" before they are allowed to return a so called defective unit they suddenly realize that it really does work and they finally admit that they did not really do all those suggestions in the instructions like they swore they did the day before. In summary, dont buy a $30 deicer and expect it to work more than one season, set up your unit correctly or ask for advice from your dealer, and if you have any doubts the unit is working pop it in for the freezer test. You will find you will enjoy many years of use out of most units on the market. Best wishes
