Answer:	No, it is not dishwasher safe. You shouldn't put anything made of wood into a dishwasher, the heat will warp and eventually crack thr wood. Finished pieces will last longer going through a dishwasher but all wooden products will eventually break down in a washer

Answer:	It is not flat. The bottom is fingers, so it rests on the table on four of the fingers and a small stump like leg that helps balance so it doesn't rock.
