Answer:	Yes, but there is a thing - if you adjust the strip height to the carpet, you will have a little gap at the hard floor level, so there will be draft and the weather strip won't be very effective. You will need to cover the gap with a draft stopper. I think you might be better off with a brush door sweep.

Answer:	Yep they get caught up on the carpet but nothing really big. My apartment door used to shut on its own but since I installed this I have to shut it myself, but that's no problem for me compared to the benefit of this product. No more winter cold air coming inside.
