Answer:	This clock has a pleasant tic tac sound. We find it pleasant enough to go to sleep. I am afraid I don't meditate so I can't give an opinion on how useful it is for that art.

Answer:	It's made in China and I've used it regularly for a year with the alarm function. It works well, but is difficult to wind as the cranks on the back are small and very close together. Overall I got what I paid for, but no bonuses.
Question:	If this is truly a wind up clock, can someone please explain to me why a standard battery is required
Answer:	No battery required. This is an error in the listing. Clock will run at least 24 hours on one winding. Very loud bell ringer. Clock has fast/slow adjustment and may need some adjustments to keep time, out of the box. A fully wound clock will keep better time, than one that is partially wound up. For best accuracy, you can't beat a battery-operated quartz movement, but for waking up, a mechanical bell ringer is louder.
