Answer:	It does tick but I don't mind it. It's not very loud but you can definitely hear it.

Answer:	Whatever, the one I have is very dim and I can only view it by holding it. The thing says it has backlight, the manual says it, but it's not a feature. It also has a button "Signal" on the back that is not explained anywhere. It seems to work well enough, but it's impossible to read the screen in most places I have put it or hung it up.
Question:	How "weather resistant" is the sensor
Answer:	The manual suggests that the sensor can be out in the weather, as long as it isn't in the pouring rain. AcuRite sells a protective unit, here on Amazon, for a reasonable price to protect the sensor from full sun and rain and snow. Use Lithium batteries if you have it out in weather colder than 40 degrees (F). Right now it's 44 degrees on my patio in southern California.

It looks like it boils down to this: The HF3470 has a replaceable bulb (what that entails, I couldn't tell you. It looks like the HF3520 must be a "forever" bulb). The HF 3470 has a "sunrise simulation" which I dig, and helps me wake up more naturally, which is what I bought the product for in the first place, so that was important to me, but is it for you? Lastly, the HF3470 has 2 sound simulations whereas the HF3520 has 5. I wouldn't call that particular facet a deal breaker. Answer:	The LED light is not blue or white... It's a sort of orange color. Very warm and pleasant. You can also adjust the intensity of the LED light to make it very soft so you won't notice it in the dark. Perfect for people that prefer to sleep in a completely dark room, like me. Answer:	I have the same problem. The clock worked fine for about 2 months. Then the display went off. Reconnect the power cord would light up the display. But it went off in 20 sec. It comes back when I touch it, but will go off again in 20 sec. Following the Common Trouble Shooting Q&A, double press the "Down" button does NOT fix the problem.
