How to Achieve the Best Performance

Don't Mix Different Fuels. Remove old residual fuel from the fuel reservoir before filling with Fuel. You certainly don't want to mix fuels together. Mixing fuels will change their burning properties and may cause excessive smoke.

Use a Clean, Uncontaminated Lamp Oil Wick (cotton or Fiberglass). The wick is the delivery vehicle for the fuel. If the wick is contaminated with old fuel or water, it will not perform properly.

Keep the Wick Height to a Minimum which Inhibits Smoking and Conserves Fuel. The wick should be as low as possible. This will reduce smoke, provide a more consistent flame and conserve fuel.

IMPORTANT: Even the purest oil smokes if used improperly.

Answer:	It's just for show. But it does look terrific. Flame is the same color as any normal flame from clear oil or a candle.

Answer:	It depends. If you are going to use it in your oil lamps then, well, it's sootless, smokeless, and odorless. If you are going to use it in your cakes or cookies - well, yes, it's toxic and harmful or fatal if swallowed.

Answer:	If it has a flat wick bigger than 1/2" do not use paraffin oil in your kerosene lampParaffin Oil in the UNITED STATES is Liquid Candle Wax , and is mis-labeled for use in oil lamps and lanterns, when in fact it is only suited for Candle Oil Lamps that use small diameter (under 1/4",) round wick. 99% or 100% Paraffin Oil is NOT designed or suitable for use in tubular lanterns or oil lamps that use flat wick, or Kosmos or Matador type oil lamps. Further, it burns only 1/2 as bright of any of the approved fuels listed above. Paraffin oil has a much higher viscosity and a flash point of 200 degrees or higher, as compared to the flash point of 150 degrees for kerosene. We have designed a Refillable Liquid Unscented Tealight Candle. Excellent replacement for white tealights with clear cups. We could hardly believe that there were only disposable 8-hour tea light fuel cells available. The time is now to choose refillable tea lights over disposables and poor-performing wax tea light candles.

The Firefly tea light measures 1-1/2" at the bottom (standard tea light width) and 1-1/2" to the very tip of the wick, which is TALLER than most tea lights. NOTE: If the height of the flame touches or is close to a solid surface (eg, a teapot), smoke and soot will occur. It holds about 1/2 ounce of fuel. You can expect about a 3H-4H Burn using Firefly Fuels when you set the wick ever so slightly above the wick holder, just a nub. You will reach your maximum flame within a couple of minutes. For a longer burn, I would suggest purchasing a Firefly Votive or Firefly Pillar Candle which holds more fuel.

We custom-designed secure packaging so the 5 glass tea lights will arrive to you in top-top shape. A funnel is also included.

The aluminum wick holder fits snuggly into the neck of the tea light and rests nicely on the top; it DOES NOT screw in. If the tea light were to tip over, the flame would extinguish itself. Never leave burning tea lights unattended.

You can adjust the wick to achieve exactly the flame you desire and adjust the amount of heat.

Never let the fuel run dry as you will reduce the life of the wick

I'd like to give you some tips so that you can get the maximum performance from Firefly Liquid Paraffin Lamp Oil. IMPORTANT: You can get even the purist fuel to smoke if you use it improperly.

1) Remove old residual fuel from the fuel reservoir before filling with Firefly Fuel. It doesn't need to dishwasher clean but you certainly don't want to mix fuels together. Mixing fuels will change their burning properties and may cause excessive smoke.

2) Use a clean wick. The wick is the delivery vehicle for the fuel. If the wick is contaminated with old fuel or water, it will not perform properly.

3) The wick should be as low as possible. This will reduce smoke, provide a more consistent flame and conserve fuel.

Liquid Paraffin Lamp Oil will solidify at the freezing point of 32 degrees. It will turn to liquid again above 32 degrees without harm to the fuel.

Here are other considerations that may be of interest. Our plastic bottles are recylable. All Firefly Fuels use commercial-style bottles with childproof caps and there are NO inactive ingredients, such as colorants, which reduce purity.

And, what about leakage? We electronically seal our bottles to prevent leakage and our packaging has been tested and approved to ensure the product gets to you in tip-top shape.

Answer:	Ok, now that I spent the last 2 hrs surfing Pinterest, I finally got to the flower pot heaters. To me, it looked like most of them just have tea lights sitting on a pot saucer, so I don't see why they wouldn't work. I bought mine to fit in the UCO mini ultralight lantern, and they fit fine in there.

Answer:	Hi CynthiaI simply use my fingers to pull the wick out. If I pull it out to far I reach the wick under the wick collar and pull it back to the point it should be. If the wick is to short to use your fingers a pair of tweezers is helpful.If the wick is recessed in the wick collar simply hold the wick collar and twist the wick into the collar until exposed. Then pull the wick out until all of the twisted wick has been exposed. Remove the twists from the wick and pull the wick back into the wick collar leaving the wick exposed no more then 1/8".Hope this helps.Phill Tyson

The two variables that affect the performance of your tiki torch oils are contaminated wicks and wicks that are simply exposed too much. You waste tiki torch fuel and encourage excessive smoking when the wick is over exposed.

The wicks on your tiki torches or lanterns should not be exposed more than 1/16″ to provide a nice flame - we keep ours flush with the collar and use high-quality, fiberglass tiki torch wicks.

Contaminated wicks also contribute to poor performance. If you leave your torches outside and uncovered, your wick is soaking up rain water, and if you change fuels, you need to change the wick too, or dry it before soaking in Firefly Tiki Torch Fuel. You must also empty the torch reservoirs to ensure our safe lamp oil is not mixed with previous fuels as the performance will be compromised.
