Answer:	A triple A battery will fit, but the light requires a 3.7 Volt battery,and the AAA batteries are only 1.2 Volts.

Answer:	No it will not use standard AAA batteries. The battery charges inside the flashlight under the lens end of the light, just gently pull the lens barrel and see the charging port under a micro USB.

Answer:	I'm a professional mechanic and for what I do, the Streamlight brand is awesome. They are bright, the batteries last forever not to mention, I have dropped my lights in every kind of muck you could think of in a shop and they still work. I have dropped it, run over it and it still works...has for years. Highly recommend them.

Answer:	I'm assuming you mean intrinsically safe in the official NFPA-type definition, vs the other people who assumed you just meant safe in general. The official answer would have to come from the company, but given that the electronics are solid state (no arcing/sparking) and the waterproof sealing, I wouldn't be uncomfortable using this in a Class 1 Div 2 environment. I'm not sure I would use in C1D1 without direct information from the manufacturer.

Answer:	It costs only $13 so it's made in China, if it was made in New York it would cost $130, if London $230 :)
Question:	Where is the on/off switch for this lantern
Answer:	Just disassembled mine to make the lens "frosty" instead of clear (keep from burning my retinas!). There's a microswitch on top of the battery compartment. A long spring connected to the LED array presses against the switch to turn it off--extending obviously releases the switch. The battery compartment cover can be installed in 4 positions (rotating 90 degrees between). If not in the correct one of the 4, the spring would never press the normally-closed switch (opening the circuit and turning off the light). If your doesn't turn off, I'd suspect wrong orientation of the cover plate or that the spring has fallen off. Either would be a pretty simple fix. Curiously, I also found the long center screw was installed upside down. The bottom end plastic is shaped to capture the nut. It made initially disassembly slightly more difficult (you'll need a 7mm socket or open-ended wrench).

I didn't buy my original lantern on Amazon but I came to buy a replacement one and looked at the questions. Answer:	With the lantern standing on it's top and the bottom removed, iif you look into the lantern battery compartment, you will see a stem sticking up in the middle . That stem is round with a raised pointy area on it. Look at the bottom piece and you will see a hollow stem sticking up that has an opening with a matching pointy area. In order to put the bottom on the lantern you have to match those two pointed areas together , slide the bottom in and then twist clockwise.. If you don't match the stem in the lantern to the hollow tube in the bottom piece they won't go together.

Answer:	This will blow through premium alkaline batteries like Duracell, down 50% in five months and dead in nine months. I am suspicious of people upvoting the claim it is like a smoke detector. This is good light, it is NOT a good light for emergency unless you insert a piece of thin cardboard to block one of the contacts.
