Answer:	Easy. You simply turn it on at anytime and it times itself off after five hours. That's it! I turned ours on at dusk (around six p.m. here) and it goes until 11p.m. It will continue this every night until the batteries give out - several months or so. If you don't like the timing you set the first time, simply turn it off and then turn it on again for the five hour period you prefer.

Answer:	I actually purchased these as a Christmas gift for my mom this year. But being curious I put batteries in one to see what it looked like and yes they do lightly flicker and they are made very well. I was pleased with this purchase. Question:	I see that the width is 3.5 inches however there is no indication as to the height. Also, is it possible to have these in a cream color
Answer:	Hi! Thanks, I'll take a look at that now; meantime the height is 15.35 inches. If you have a specific size in mind that would work for you, just drop us a message and we can probably make something for you :) Color: Technically yes...although it would be a 'stain' as opposed to paint, so you would see the wood and the grain through the stain...Honestly, I would suggest the natural sconces, without any stain at all (they will be oiled for long lasting protection), as the wood we use is a creamy white color, and once oiled, goes that slightly more yellowy sort of pale cream color that I think you are looking for. Also, we have this oil so it wouldn't cost any extra, apart from any size differences, if there are any obviously :) Hope this helps :)
