Question:	If there is no glass front, can you pick up the stones freely? We have a toddler and i want to make sure he wouldn't have access to them
Answer:	The stone trough sits directly in front of the fireplace screen and can be covered with the piece of acrylic provided for that purpose. It's removable but with some degree of difficulty. I changed out my stones for iridescent glass pebbles which provides a nicer effect, either off or lit. You can use whatever type of stone or glass pebbles that you want. Just a FYI, if you keep the original stones, wash them off and let them dry to get rid of the dust they produce. Another reason to opt for glass or smooth stones. Log was to fake for my taste so not using it at all. Love the fireplace.

Answer:	The heating unit is located at the top of the fireplace, the rest of it is basically a "tv screen". Before I recessed mine in the wall I ran it for about 20 mins and was still able to touch the back with my bare hand. FYI...The wall I used is framed 2x4 and the LED lights on the sides ended up being behind the drywall when fully inserted, so I ended up pulling it out an inch so they would be exposed.

Answer:	Yes, you just lose the option of the side lighting. I recessed mine, just made sure the vent that pulls the air on the top for the heater was clear. It works and looks great recessed.
