Question:	can you mount this on a wall or something
Answer:	The heater does not have any mounting holes. The internal fan, which is quite a good size (and VERY quite), draws in air from the back through an approx. 5" round vent. With this in mind, the fan could be placed on a small wall hanging shelf (that would allow the rear fan vent to draw in air without obstruction; given that the back of the heater would have at least 2-3 inches of clearance). It would be very "do-able" and very easy to construct. In my opinion, using wood as material should not create any safety concerns, as the ENTIRE plastic housing is not even warm when the unit is on. Great question and idea!
Question:	does it start automatically at night if I set the temperature before I go to sleep
Answer:	There is a knob/dial on the right side that should turn the unit on/off so the room stays at a set temperature, but it does not work the way it is supposed to. The room will be too hot before it shuts off and too cold before it starts up again. I definitely do not advise leaving it running when you go to sleep.

Answer:	Mine tipped over and kept oscillating and full heat face down into my purse on the floor. It melted everything in there....my glasses, credit cards, lipsticks, etc. I am glad that I woke up. There was no auto shut off, alarm or reduced heat.

Be sure to get the right size!

Heatwave comes in various sizes to accommodate differing size spaces. It is important to accurately measure the space you intend heat. Avoid placing the heating cable under vanities, within 6-inches of the toilet gasket and under other permanent fixtures in the space. It is acceptable to place Heatwave in a shower, provided that is still fully embedded in a thinset/or Mortar.

Be aware the heating cable cannot be cut or shortened in anyway.

Get the Right Size

Be sure to order a Heatwave system for the area to BE HEATED, not the total area. The Heatwave heating element CANNOT be cut or shortened to a fit a space.

Smaller size systems are available to fit smaller areas.

Avoid performing any cutting/drilling tasks on a finished/partially finished floor that could cause damage to heating element.

Don't Power on Until...

Do not power on the Heatwave System until it has been completely embedded in a cement-based compound (thinset/mortar/self-leveling) and that compound is completely dried.

Do not power on a Heatwave System to "test" or to dry out an embedding compound.

Completely Embed

The Heatwave cable MUST be completely embedded (unable to be seen) in a cement-based compound (thinset/mortar/self-leveling).

Both connection/junction points must also be fully embedded, the connection point at the end of the heating element and the connection point between the red heating cable and the black unheated (cold lead) cable.

Ensure that air pockets in mortar/thinset/self-leveling compound with exposed heating element, get fully filled-in.

Perform All Tests

Perform all required tests outlined in the installation manual at several stages throughout installation to ensure that heating element has not been damaged.

Failure to perform all the required tests at several stages can cause system damage to be missed which can lead to system errors, ground faults, non-functional systems, and unrepairable damage.

Answer:	No, this unit was not designed to be hard wired. It has a suitable electrical cord with a plug on it, intended to be plugged into a 20 amp wall outlet. Dual wattage means it has a high and a low heat output, which is controlled by a switch that comes on the unit.
Question:	Is there any sort of safety screen for this? I'd be concerned about small things falling into it, or children pushing small toys into it
Answer:	There is no safety screen at all on this heater. You may be able to attach a heat resistant mesh on the outside of the heater for little hands/small things not to find their way into the heater. The heating element does sit way back and inferiorly on the heater but without the screen it is pretty easy for curious hands to find their way into it. Hope this helps.

Wattage indicates the amount of electricity needed to power the heater--not the amount of heat it can deliver. Heater is the first to feature a dual heating system for maximum heat transfer rate. It combines the energy efficiency of infrared heat with the comfort of convection heat to heat your room fast and comfortably--without hot spots and cold spots. Dr. Heater uses a state-of-the-art 7-inch blower that generates higher pressure and moves larger air volume at a lower speed, without any of the noise of those other heaters on the market. Dr. Infrared Heater has three power Settings: Auto, Low 1000W and High 1500W. The auto energy saving mode allows you to set your desired temperature from 50-86F. It smartly selects between the two settings depending on your room temperature. The thermostat regulates the heater and causes it to cycle on and off to maintain the set temperature. You can also manually set the heater to run on High or Low all the time or with a timer. The heater has to be turned on first in order to use the remote. This a safety provision mandated by the Underwriters Laboratory. So, in order to use the remote, the first step for the user is to press the POWER button on the heater itself. This turns the heater on STANDBY. Then, pressing the POWER button on the remote will turn the heater on. The heater can't be turned on if the unit is not on STANDBY.
