I’m in the south so I set in middle . Watch your return time as I’ve bought a few and one lost heat element and only rotated to one side but Amazon replaced immediately. It’s a small compact heater /fan and my best purchase in place older high towers not cost efficient.

Answer:	If you use it every day, for extended periods, you will see an increase in your electricity use, which will translate to an increase in your bill. I took the path of using masking tape to block all the outdoor winter air leaking into my apartment around the sliding doors and windows to reduce/minimize the need to use the heater. You do not want to use this heater as your primary heat source.

Answer:	I know! The instructions are not very clear but if you move it to approximately 9:00 position (marked Hi) press in and hit the ignition, it will start. Hold the control knob in for a while and you will see it start to glow... it may "pop n' spit" a bit but it will calm down shortly. If a windy day keep the knob depressed a bit longer, release; and don't leave it until it a couple minutes. Make sure it is really going before you trust it. If you are like me (bald)... wear a hat, it really throws out the heat when you are close.

My room is ~12’ by 10’ and 9’ ceilings and it works just fine I usually wake up and turn it off in the middle of the night because I get too warm. I still run heat in the rest of the house but makes sleeping a little more comfortable

I am guessing that you are worried about safety, so I will address the issue of safety: A safer heater would be an oil-filled electric with a timer and a thermostat and that has three levels: 500, 1000, 1500Watts; why is this type of heater safer? Because they dissipate heat across a much wider surface area and they are cooler to the touch - but at the same time, have more heat coming out of them on mid or high level settings; DeLonghi is one such manufacturer / product; these heaters will typically get a UL rating, so look for that also;

Question:	can you mount this on a wall or something
Answer:	The heater does not have any mounting holes. The internal fan, which is quite a good size (and VERY quite), draws in air from the back through an approx. 5" round vent. With this in mind, the fan could be placed on a small wall hanging shelf (that would allow the rear fan vent to draw in air without obstruction; given that the back of the heater would have at least 2-3 inches of clearance). It would be very "do-able" and very easy to construct. In my opinion, using wood as material should not create any safety concerns, as the ENTIRE plastic housing is not even warm when the unit is on. Great question and idea!
Question:	does it start automatically at night if I set the temperature before I go to sleep
Answer:	There is a knob/dial on the right side that should turn the unit on/off so the room stays at a set temperature, but it does not work the way it is supposed to. The room will be too hot before it shuts off and too cold before it starts up again. I definitely do not advise leaving it running when you go to sleep.
