Turn fan off and unplug from outlet.2. Turn the louver cap counter-clockwise and you will be able to remove the cap.3. Remove the 4 screws that secure the louver.4. Remove the 3 screws that secure the grille.5. Clean unit with moistened soft cloth only. Do not pour or splash water on the unit.6. Reassemble the fan completely.I hope this helps. |

This is a "design feature" of the fan.. as the tech support folks on here have said, it is INTENTIONAL and NOT ADVERTISED behavior. Sure it may be "in the manual" but I would not have purchased the thing if I had known it is not reliable for cooling without having to power cycle the thing every N hours. (12 hours is the claim, but it is fairly random in practice). They claim this is for "safety" reasons, but if the thing hasnt caught on fire in TWELVE HOURS, it's not very likely that it is going to.. besides, why sell a fan that is considered by the manufacturer as "unsafe for use beyond 12 hours"? Who would buy it? If you use this for gentle cooling of a computer that's perhaps doing video work.. guess what? The manufacturer decided to make it shut off randomly so if you leave it unattended, your computer fries (for.. safety?). If you use it for sleep.. well expect to awake drenched in sweat once or twice a night, as the fan decided to turn itself off "for safety". It's like a big pot of delicious stew, that someone slipped a piece of dog feces in.. it's a really great fan, except for the turd.. (in some cases it being worse than useless). Maybe I should go buy a car that shuts off every 3 hours, regardless of its engine temperature, you know, for safety.. wouldn't that be nice? |

| Answer: | Sadly, I agree. It soaked the surface around where the fan is blowing way more significantly than it should. The only solution is to get smaller spray nozzles. I have found them at a specialty hardware store. Too much water pressure in the hose can lead to a rupture, so the valve shouldn’t be cranked any higher than to provide effective spray. |
