Answer:	I recently purchased this fan (May 2020) and cleaning the blades was very easy. The plastic plate that says “Holmes” twists off like a bottle cap. Underneath there is one screw. Unscrew it and the grill comes right off. Putting it back together is just as easy as taking it apart. It’s probably the easiest fan I’ve ever cleaned. I would love to order another one but they have not been in stock for months now.

Answer:	I have mine installed vertically. I did not use the bottom extender, but the top extender filled the gap perfectly. It's about 30 inches high with the one extender out. I actually leave the extender in sometimes and have both fans on 'intake', figuring the 6 inches above will allow air to exhaust. It's still very secure, even with the extender not extended. No one can possibly reach through (they would have to remove the screen first), and you cannot remove it without destroying the fan and making a lot of noise (I cut a round dowel to keep the window closed tight against the fan).

Answer:	It is a very good fan and does not make noise. It is powerful tho so you will hear the air. I have 3 of them around the outside of the building to cool the yard and they work well.

Answer:	This particular fan should move the air in your garage approx. once every three minutes or so. This is a decent amount of air movement.

Basically it mounts like a flange mount window does, if you're not familiar with that kind of mounting, a quick Google search will provide a wealth of information on the subject.

Question:	How can I get a replacement remote
Answer:	My understanding is that the fan needs to be plugged into a grounded wall outlet and not into an extension cord. Both the fan's cord and the wall outlet "trip" occasionally in bad weather or when we have a momentary blackout/brownout from summer heat and they have to be reset with the buttons on the fan plug and the wall outlet (like on a hairdrier cord.) If my fan plug had not fit I would have tried to remove the outlet cover (which closes by a spring.) If I had been unable to do that, I would have used a grounded wet rated outdoor cord with a surge protector. Ive had the fan about 2 years. Unfortunately I went out of town for ten days and when I got back, the fan had "tripped." I turned it on and after struggling for a minute, I smelled burning rubber so I unplugged it. I'm pretty sure it's dead or dangerous. Going to track down the warranty papers and see if the company will fix it under the 3 year warranty.
