Answer:	I googled the fan. According to current history the fan in question is made in America / Andover Kansas. A Vornado model VH 110 Vortex electric space heater was made in China . The Vornado silver swan oscillating fan is made in America .

Answer:	I am not 100% sure, but it looks like the back grill is attached with three bolts that are turned by an allen wrench. Based on that, I am guessing you could take it apart for cleaning. However, I have not tried to take it apart for cleaning. The front grill appears to be permanently attached to the frame.

Answer:	It is not totally silent. I would say it is good for white noise but now loud. We LOVE this fan and will be buying another one this summer for our kitchen.
Question:	Can the fan be opened to clean the blades
Answer:	Yes. There are three screws in the back that connect the fan motor portion to the body of the fan which require an allen wrench. It can be dismantled, cleaned and reattached with minimal effort as long as you have the right size hex key (allen wrench).

Answer:	Yes. This fan has a steady 'white noise' sound. On low it is softer than on the high setting. I like both of the levels. the sound seems to drown out other noises like cars going by etc.

Answer:	The front grill can be removed by unhooking the three arms that hold it to the fan body. It can be tricky the first time but once you do it, it becomes easier.

Answer:	Absolutely, yes. This fan is like the ones made in the 1950's in many ways. It is very well manufactured and better than the the originals with better protection of your fingers. I looked into it and saw the power switch is a quality one. And the wiring is first rate with a fuse in the plug end of the power cord. I am going to buy another one as well. I have the larger type original by Vornado and this is as well made. The blades are plastic but well done, deep pitch 5 blade. Exceptionally high standards for modern products... quiet, reliable, and yes metal. Vornado is what they claim to be... the best room air circulatory systems made.

Answer:	Only if you have a very sturdy wall shelf that’s at least six inches in width, eight would be safer, give it more clearance.
Question:	How many RPMs is each speed
Answer:	I have no idea as to RPMs but I do know it does not blow so hard as to blow your hair back. However it has a unique airflow that is gentle, seems to wrap around your body and my wife loves it. She uses it in the bedroom to cool her side of the bed without it blowing on me.
Question:	Can this be used in the U.K
Answer:	The Vornado products offered in the U.S. are designed for a 120 volt / 60 hertz power system. If you use them with a voltage converter to change your 240 volts to 120, the converter will not convert your 50 hertz to 60 and the motor will run slower and hotter than it should. This will cause premature failure of the motor and this is not covered by the warranty.
