Answer:	I've used this fan for small areas of dampness from an AC drain line backup, and it works well for that. But, for a larger plumbing leak, this fan would be inadequate. You need much larger air movers and possibly drying equipment to ensure a complete drying procedure is done. This will help ensure you don't end up with mold or mildew.

Answer:	it moves quite a lot of air. if you put it at the bottom of a staircase and have a door open, i could see it doing that. the problem is then the draw, where is the air coming down into the basement from that will replace the air you are moving up? if it's from the same staircase then I could just see a loop.

Question:	Does this fan suck enough air from the back to be able to put a filter on the front
Answer:	Lasko fans are very noisy. Wasn't always like that.
Question:	Is the fan's frame metal or plastic
Answer:	The grey frame is metal, the front and back grates and the blades are plastic
Question:	Cfm please
Answer:	There is NO WAY this thing is 2500 CFM. I bought one and it struggles to pull air through 1 filter and back out 1 filter. This is MAYBE 250 CFM, but probably 25 CFM. If you just need a fan to cool things off, then by all means this is probably fine. If you're looking, like I was, to build an air filtration system for a wood shop (even realizing I'd probably need more than one), this is NOT sufficient. I'm going the furnace blower route, the fine dust in my lungs just isn't worth the extra hundred bucks or so.
Question:	Where is the power cord? Does it stick out from the middle of the fan
Answer:	The cord comes out from the fan, at the bottom edge of the grillwork, on the air-in side, just a little off from midway along that edge... hth
