As to the quantity this is really tough to guess because it depends on the amount of moisture in the air in your particular environment. Answer:	It’s not a dehumidifier in the sense it captures water in a reservoir that is then drained (I have one of those also). This unit warms the air very gradually and rises taking moisture with it. The instructions advise to be able to then “vent” this air to outside. I use this unit in a 24 ft RV that is stored for the winter, I live in a very cool and damp region, so far it is working very well and as designed. Suggest read as much as you can about this and other products to determine what’s best for your needs. Good luck to you.

Answer:	Not aware of the activated charcoal one, only use the one for dampness in my garage. Sorry.

Answer:	I use in my travel trailer, it last 6 months. I would get at least 2 For your basement and watch the moisture line on the pale Every few weeks to see how quickly it’s absorbing. Then decide if you need more.

Answer:	The other answers are so ignorant and wrong I had to add my own. Based on the MSDS sheet, and not the ignorant "it's made of chemicals, therefore probably harmful, so no, even though I have no clue hur durr", it's primarily anhydrous calcium chloride, with some potassium and sodium chloride as well. Anhydrous calcium chloride is commonly used as a dessicant (a drying agent) in the lab, and can be regenerated quite easily. The problem in this case is that the temperature needed to do so is about 300C, which would melt the tub it comes in. So, if you dump it into a pot, and put it in your oven at 300C (~575F) until is dry again, you'll be able to reuse the contents again. Just google " Calcium Chloride Dessicant" and look up the MSDS for the product if you need more information.

Question:	Poor product as collection potion leaked as soon as any moisture collected. 3 of the 4 bags did this ruining some items. Others have this experience
Answer:	The container is reusable an infinite number of times. The crystals dissolve in the moisture collected.

Answer:	You just pour the little pebbles into the dome part of the container, seal it with the lid, lock it into place on the bucket and basically wait. The pebbles take some time to absorb the water but you should start to see water collecting at the bottom of the bucket.

Answer:	I do not use their bucket because of the time I am away from my boat. It would fill up and run over. I set the strainer in a plastic pasta strainer and put it over a 5 gallon bucket. Then once a week or so when I am near the boat I pour the water out of the bucket and add another bag of stuff to the strainer and all is well.

Answer:	Sadly it does not, it is really made for 13" but you can just squeeze a 15" in...barely. 16" though will definitely not fit.

Answer:	So it doesn’t take electrical batteries, it takes plug in batteries? Like rechargeable batteries that you plug in to charge? Are they AA, AAA, 9V ?

Answer:	Someone said that it uses 20 watts. If your power costs are $.10/kwh (around what we pay here in Idaho, I don't know what you pay in Florida), then expect to pay about $1.50/month. My math: 720 hours (approximate hours in a month) * .02 kilowatts (same as 20 watts) * $.10 kwh = $1.44. You can change those variables if my assumptions are wrong.
Question:	i can't get the lid off the water tank. The lid is very tight. i can't get it off. is that normal or do you just empty it by draining it upside down
Answer:	I drain it upside down. It doesn't appear it was designed to come apart. I was able to get back of top loose but not the front. Since it does drain well upside down, that is what I do with no issues.
Question:	We have an extremely humid bathroom that is about 11' X 8', and a bad mold problem. Would this unit be big enough to deal get rid of moisture
Answer:	A bad mold problem? Im a chemist. If the mold is behind the walls, and in the carpet you will HAVE to do a remodel and cut out ALL mold infested drywall. No way around it. DO NOT DISTURB THE MOLD! This needs a professional water restoration company to fix. I repeat DO NOT touch or disturb mold growing on drywall or carpet. Call a reputable water restoration company immediately, failing to deal with mold could void your home insurance policy.Now...if you have mold on the outside, simply clean everything with a 10% concentration of household REGULAR bleach, preferably Clorox. (Not laundry bleach alternatives like clorox 2, nor any with fragrance) I prefer to use Clorox, bc it's calibrated to exactly 6% hypochlorite. Generics are fine, but some have been tested at only 4-5%, which will not make a proper 10% solution. If you use a generic, make a 20% solution to be on the safe side. To make a 10% solution using Clorox, use 9 parts water to 1 part clorox. (ie. 9 cups water to 1 cup clorox.) To make a 20% solution using a generic bleach, use 4 parts water to 1 part generic bleach. Put the bleach in the container first, then fill with the measured amount of water. Do the next part in stages or youll gas yourself out. (Wear clothing you don't care gets ruined or do this naked ;) )Day 1:1. Soak all areas that have visible mold. (Use a sprayer) 2. Leave for 10-20 minutes. Rinse and repeat steps 1-2. Day 2 (or after area has ventilated) With new rags, and using vinyl or latex gloves, wash the entire rest of the shower/bath/fixtures/sink/floor (if tile) from floor to ceiling with the 10% solution. 2. Let sit for 10-20 minutes. 3. Dry entire area using clean towels. 4. Discard all rags and towels.Mold requires 3 things to grow, 1. Moisture, 2. Stagnant air/Low oxygen/low air flow, and 3. Low UV light. To keep mold from growing in the future, remove one or more of the mold growth factors. (Simple solutions stated first)***1. You can do a lot towards keeping mold growth down by wiping down the shower and tub after EACH use with a big towel. (Make sure you hang all wet towels to dry in another room, or put in dryer, or you've wasted your time.) Sometimes this single step alone solves the problem. 2. Keep air circulating to the room by putting a tabletop fan on the floor, and pointing upwards into the room.3. Mechanically remove moisture from the air by purchasing a household large capacity dehumidifier. (This little dehumidifier will not be enough alone, but combined with steps 1 & 2, might help if you run it while showering.)4. Install a ceiling fan that vents outside.5. Install a UV light in the shower stall that runs at night. Small grow lights will not work, youll need a UV light with a small enough wavelength to kill mold, the kind that goes in furnace humidifiers. HOWEVER...if you have children do not do the UV light as they will cause burns to skin. You only want the UV light in the shower when you turn out the light. It should be timed to turn off during the day. ***Steps 1, 2 and 4 will help tremendously without needing to purchase a dehumidifier, and usually solves the problem.
