Question:	I have a Nautilus mdl N671 will mdl n688 install in same housing
Answer:	I ordered the 671 to replace an old Nautilus N688-H. The motor fit nicely into the existing housing. The tabs even fit in the housing slots. Plug and discharge orientations were identical to the old housing. Based on this single experience. I would assume a 688 fan would fit in a 671 housing - - - but I cannot verify.
Question:	Can u replace a nautilus n721 with this
Answer:	Look at the size of the base on the Braun...then look at the opening in the ceiling...if it will fit in that part is OK. Next look at the size of the plastic grill cover on the Braun. If it will cover the hole in the ceiling (the sheetrock hole) then that is OK too.You can find the sizes in the specs of the Braun on Amazon.Be aware that replacing these ceiling fans is something of a project...not for a first time do it yourselfer...on the other hand if you are handy and have a tool or two you can do it.

Answer:	This fan is meant to mount permanently and cannot be removed after installation for cleaning. However, the grill is easily removable which will allow some cleaning. I believe this fan is made in the United States.

Answer:	I had this installed in my bathroom in my basement. They pulled the old one out of the ceiling and put this one in the existing hole in the ceiling.

Answer:	Thank you for your question on the model QTXE080 exhaust fan. The QTXE080 does not have a humidity sensor. The unit should be connected to a standard wall switch and should run as long as the switch is turned on. Question:	I need to replace an existing fan, what is the size of the housing? I assume this can be installed from inside the house, I have a first floor unit
Answer:	For the Broan QTXE080, the metal housing is 10-1/2" x 11-3/8" x 7-5/8". The two joist mounts run along the 11-3/8" side. The plastic grill is 13" x 13-3/4". It weights about 12 pounds. Just be sure to note that this uses a 6" diameter duct, whereas most older installations use a 4" duct.For my installations, I have one duct going out the ceiling on the 2nd floor bathroom, and one duct going out the side wall on the 1st floor bathroom. I had to cut the drywall a bit to screw in the joist mounts. My installations was to replace existing units that were cheap and noisy, this unit is really whisper quiet.

Question:	Is it loud? Can you have a conversation In front of it
Answer:	It's not very loud, yes you could have a conversation near it. Had to do a small adjustment to free the fan, due to repacking from a previous customer.
Question:	Can this be left on 24 hours/day in a utility closet
Answer:	Indefinitely, I am not sure, but it does run here in 100 degree+ temps for most of the 24 hour day and has done so for about 4 years. If the temps are not too high it might be like one of those machines that if it runs all the time it will go until the bearings go out after a bunch of years.
Question:	does this fan have a continuous duty motor
Answer:	I can only comment on the Broan 509 and the specs on their site spec sheet say "Continuous Operation: No". https://www.broan.com/Bath-Vent-Fan/Utility-Fans/Through-Wall-Fans/509 Also, the speed controller cannot be used with Impedance protected fans, and yet Broan suggest it for the install.
Question:	Is the 10" thickness the minimum, or can it be trimmed down
Answer:	When installed as directed--with all components unaltered--the minimum thickness is 9 inches. However, as other have indicated, you can reduce this further by trimming the metal components of the duct. In fact, if you managed to glue/seal the fan housing directly to the plastic vent cap, the whole assembly requires only 5 inches. So there are a lot of options to put this unit in a thinner wall. If you trim the duct work, just be sure you have means to tape/seal everything once it is in the wall. On the final step, the length of the flexible duct is what enables you to tape/seal all the connections on the exterior side before compressing everything back into the wall.

Answer:	Heya Sandra,The exhaust duct right out of the housing is around 4 inches by 3 inches or so, however, a plastic part comes with the unit that changes the rectangle to a 4 inch circle so you can use regular old fashioned dryer ducting. The plastic part also has a flapper (valve) in it to prevent air from coming back through.It does not have a night light function. It only has the regular light, exhaust vent, and heater (which REALLY works!). Good luck,Todd
Question:	What diameter vent hose does this use? Is it
Answer:	Based on the question I am assuming you have the same unit now and are trying to replace it because either the heater doesn't work or something else is not working. I had to replace the heater element in mine . If your looking to replace your unit with a new one and unless you have access to the heater from the top or you have space to slide the unit from one side to the other you really can not unhook the unit from the hinge pins. What I did was left the shell of the unit in the ceiling and replaced the fan and the heater element from my new one. It's fairly easy just to unscrew all the components and replace them with the new parts. You will need to rewire the connections from both heater and fan to the in bound power source. Answer:	There are two metal mounting brackets on the fan that mount to the structure with screws. A 3" flexible duct runs from the fan to a wall or roof cap. Two adjustable 3" metal screw clamps are required to hold the 3" flex duct to the fan & cap. An electrical circuit is required to power the fan & it requires an on-off switch. This requires a moderate amount of skill.

Answer:	Yes, it's straight exhaust.

Answer:	The 510 is a room to room fan. It is not for exhausting to the outside. It is for indoor use only. You would need to install some kind of exhaust fan. Additionally, you would also need a way to draw in fresh or make up air. For additional assistance, please contact our Technical Support Department at 800-637-1453.
Question:	How many watts does this unit use
Answer:	You should check your local building codes. Generally it is not permissible to vent a bathroom exhaust fan into another interior space, even a void space (like an attic, or between the walls.) This is especially true if you have a tub or shower in the bathroom.
Question:	My wall is 11.5 thick. Can i install it
Answer:	On high it's not real quiet but if it's the only thing on in the room you can hear it. If you turn it down it makes almost no noise but it won't push much air at that level. I wouldn't buy this product again for what I was trying to do. I was trying to heat/cool and adjacent 12 x 12 room and there just isn't enough volume to be that effective. Noise wise its like a small bathroom fan I suppose.

Answer:	You won't find this. It isn't relevant. The 55-1 uses a lag screw as the pivot point (drill out center of pivot plate), and the 55-2 has the pivot plate on it.

Question:	what CFM does this fan have
Answer:	The same as any other type. This unit is good because you can wire each circuit separately for light / fan / heater. Best way to keep it economical is to put a proper timer on the heater unit, and switched on the light. I put a 30 minute timer on mine and found generally in cold winter 15 to 20 minutes of use was all that was needed. The heater will heat a bathroom up very fast, even in winter; totally worth the few cents for each use. Very little for light / fan / night light. The cost for electricity is in any unit is heater, and they are similar as long as the heater can be wired separately of the lights (which not all units are pre- “wired for)
Question:	How far below the deck plate is the lowest point of the motor
Answer:	Easy answer first, the thing heats like a jet engine! I completely loved it - had an older house with a bathroom sharing two walls with attic of the lower floor (split level house) In Cold Weather climate and this would warm a normal bathroom (with tub) from 60 to 75F in the time of a normal shower, with the vent fan running too exhausting moisture. I put in a 30 minute max timer - and the most I ran it was ~15 or 20 minutes and only in winter. The vent fan is as efficient as any other fan. It is as efficient as any electric heater (100%), which is considered "poor" compared to say a heat pump, but as much as you'll get for an electric heater. But you only run this unit while showering, so maybe 2 - 4 times a day, only 15 minutes each time, and only 1/2 of the year; so Maybe 150 hours a year; so like 200 kWH @ 14 cents average in the US gets you $28 a year to run.
Question:	I have the 57n2 series but mistakenly purchased the 696n series. will it work if i just put the 696n's engine in
Answer:	What do you mean by “regular light bulb”? Manufacturers should just say the base type. The “bulb base” Is the standard A15 - capable of, I believe, 1 amp - thus 120 Watt When at 120 Volt. I of course use LED bulbs, of correct base / type, At 10 watts or so. Hopefully this is clear - in that any appropriate 120 volt bulb that fits will work fine when correctly wired.

Answer:	THE WILL EASILY WARM UP A LARGE BATHROOM. MINE IS 9 X 15 AND IT WARMS IT NICELY,
