The bulb has a 20,000 hour life so I would guess they last at least 5 years with normal usage. Answer:	The low setting seems quiet enough, but the medium and high are definitely loud "fans". Haven't really used this yet though as it just arrived so I cannot comment on whether it's worth the upgrade.
Question:	The "replace hepa" light came on, I've replaced it with a new one. How do I reset the unit to get the blinking red message off

Question:	do you have to purchase replacement filters
Answer:	Yes, the filter pushes air through a charcoal pre filter > a hepa filter > UV light. All of which are replaceable. It's recommended to replace the pre charcoal and hepa filter every 6 months or so depending on use and how contaminated the air is. It's also recommended to take a vacuum to the filter every month to pull out the larger particles that may be lodged in it and extend filter life. When I looked for replacements they were not available on amazon, but easily purchased through the manufacturer's website.
Question:	How is the noise level after a month or two of using it
Answer:	I noticed it seem loud after about 5 months of years and I followed the directions perfectly cleaning the filter by vacuuming it every three to four weeks. At the 6 or 7th month I noticed I couldn't tell the difference between low medium or high and it seemed loud. I realized I needed to change the filter and when I put a new filter in it got much quieter. So my conclusion is that if your filter is dirty it's going to sound loud and one of the way she'll know besides the noise is that the filter itself will get heavy or heavier than a brand new one. I hope that helps others. For a single 12'x15' bedroom I love this filter.
Question:	what is the cfm of air movement, and what range or distance
Answer:	I do not know the CFM rating on this unit, but I bought 2 others, of supposedly 'better quality' and paid thru the nose for them both (over $400), but this GermGauardian unit out performs both of the others put together. This is the unit to get, if you ask me. I love it! We've had it for over 1 year I think and it is still doing a great job. One of the others absorbs the smells of the room until I turn the unit on, then it distributes the smell out into the room. But the GermGuardian kills the smells. The filter is easily cleaned and durable. I only wish I had invested in another one. Now I'm stuck with these two others, trying to beat the smells in my wife's nursing home room which she must share with a bed-ridden cancer victim. This unit seems to be powerful enough to handle about 12' x 14'. I'd by another one and recommend it to anyone.
Question:	Stupid question, but is the UV on or off with the button pushed in? Is something supposed to light up when the UV is on
Answer:	UV is on when the button is in, off when it's out. When it's on there's a light that's kinda hard to see through the front inside.

Question:	is it quiet when running
Answer:	As long as the room isn't too big it would probably at least help a little bit. The room we use ours in is 12' by 13' to control any pet odors from a cat. My wife and I are very sensitive to smells and it works very well for what we needed. Based on the price we wanted to try this plug in (which is very convenient) before we spent money on any of the larger more expensive units. Possibly worth trying. We currently have 3 of these. 1 in each of our offices and 1 in one room of the house.
Question:	How loud a unit is it
Answer:	I run a daycare also in my finished basement. Depending on the size of your space, you may want their room size model. I have their model EV9102 UV Sanitizer. it's bigger and does more air quickly for my daycare. I use this tiny unit for my half bath and where I keep the litter box and it's amazing! The smell the other answer talks about does dissipate usually within 24 hours. If not, the company should take care of it. I've had zero issues with 3 units.

Answer:	Depends upon the size of the room. This unit has to cycle ALL the air in the room through it to remove all the germs from the room. This device is rated to clean 456 cubic ft in one hour. An 8 x 8 x 8 room is 512 cubic ft of air; takes 1.12 hours to clean. An 12 x 12 x 12 ft room is 1728 cubit ft of air; takes 3.78 hours to clean. I hope this helps. The 3rd number is the height of the ceiling, most are 8 ft tall.
