Question:	What are the dimensions for the base. How deep is the base
Answer:	Base frame fully assembled is 11 inches deep x 9.25 inches wide x 1 inch high. The bottom of the fan that fits into this frame is 6 inches deep x 6-1/2 inches wide.

Answer:	It does, but they're different than table/pedestal fan. There is a cylindrical impeller that has blades on it; the air wave from the fan is vertical as opposed to table fan. You could google "how does tower fan work" for more details/better explanation.

Answer:	I do but, i have tight weave carpet, I never had it not seem balanced.

Answer:	I've owned several different models of tower fans: Lasko, Holmes, Seville and now finally this Soleus. While the Lasko tower fans are good quality, I think this Soleus is a great fan. I have it sitting beside me in the TV room so even when it's at the highest speed, it's not as noisy as other towers. It puts out a lot of air even on the lowest speed. In fact, I'm thinking of purchasing another one. I've also owned the older version of Soleus FS2-40R032 which was a great fan, it lasted 7 years (of continuous use in the summer months). I decided to try the tower this time. The remote for this tower can control all the functions that the fan has, which is great! Most remotes only control the on/off and speed. I also love the wind mode feature, which works on all 3 speeds! I think it's better than most fans and worth the price.
