Answer:	We recommend white distilled vinegar and water. Do a half and half mixture. Spray the pads down. wait a few minutes then rinse with low pressure water hose. That will help remove some of that mineral build up.

Answer:	It comes with different type of pins to anchor. They don't work like the original. And another note ... these filter pads do not fit the Durango air cooler, they are too small.
Question:	How long does it take to get rid of the bad order the pads emit
Answer:	Set pads in frame, but wait to attach frame to cooler. Spend ONE day squirting (every few hours) water hose & dishwashing liquid on the pads/frame, rinsing thoroughly each time. Next day smell nearly gone! Ready to install.

Question:	can I use regular tap water for this product? How many hours does it work if I fill up the tank
Answer:	Yes, nobody would be able to buy enough distilled water to run this if that were required. It uses a good bit of water..how much is dictated by how high you run it. I can easily get about 10 or 12 hours out of a full tank if run on low.
Question:	Will this unit work in southwest Florida where the humidity is high
Answer:	No!! These are completely dependent on humidity differentials. I've read tons of reviews and background. They'll work to some degree as long as the relative humidity is less than 100%, but you're probably better off with a non-evaporative cooler in Florida. They work like crazy in desert areas, but even then, they can only do a max of about 20'F difference from outside temp. They might work okay in concert with a traditional central air system, since that actually de-humidifies the inside air. But I don't know.

A: They are in a nested compartment with a cover you need to remove on the bottom of the unit.

Q: Why doesn’t it cool right away? I just plugged it in but it’s not cooling.

A: You need to fill the water compartment to full to allow the water pump to prime. Once that happens, it will begin to cycle the water and within 15 minutes will be cooling efficiently.

Q: Is this a portable A/C unit?

A: No, this is an Evaporative Cooler that uses water and a fan to cool the ambient air. It’s also known as a portable ‘swamp’ cooler.

Q: How many hours can this unit continuously cool after I fill the water reservoir?

A: The MC37V can cool up to 4 hours on one tank full. I usually check my unit every hour to make sure I am good. If you just want to ‘set it and forget it’, you can hook up the unit to your garden hose and the float valve will keep the unit continuously filled.

Answer:	This will keep a small room cool. My room is like a 12x12 with a high ceiling and I was cool (not cold)the whole night. I ran it for about 6 hrs, and it still had water in it by morning.
Question:	Can I order an extra ice pack
Answer:	Almost any ice pack on the market will work, so long as the size of it fits into the tank. Choose ones that have thick walls, such as Cryopak, Coleman, etc. These freeze fast (in a few hours) and thaw much slower (over several hours) than the type that comes with the cooler. Add before filling the tank to the max line since they will displace more water and you don't want to cause overflow by plopping one into a full tank.
Question:	Where is push key to remove water tank
Answer:	No push key for this model I think, I had to reach behind unit at the bottom and pull out the water tank like a drawer, but not all the way & be careful not to pull too hard as I don't think it's supposed to come off because of the water pump inside the water tank. Once water tank *drawer is pulled out to position, water and Ice packs can be poured and placed into it, then push water tank back in.

Answer:	I'm in Southern CO & use this in conjunction with a wall A/C. Dry air is a serious problem here & I've found running the A/C alone everyone gets nosebleeds, but running it with the swamp cooler works great. The swamp cooler holds a LOT of water, but we go through one tank a day. When I put ice in it & run the standard A/C the room cools down very quickly & the humidity rises to a comfortable level. I use it in a room that's about 15 X 30'.

Answer:	It’s not silent. On low it runs at 68 dB. I would not use it for this purpose but some people like the steady hum of a fan at night.
