Answer:	Neither - there's just a narrow L-shaped side support attached to the metal frame for each drawer to slide along. They don't have anything under the bottom of the drawer to support it. I'm planning to modify mine by cutting a piece of sturdy fiberboard to fit into the side supports and create a supportive shelf, since I have some extra from my Ikea bookcases.
