Answer:	I have had this set fir a few months and am very pleased with it. I wouldn’t put anything hot directly on the table surface. I can’t explain the finish, but I don’t think it would hold up well under extreme temperatures.

Answer:	Not sure about weight limit, but do know that the chairs are very sturdy, not wobbly at all and quite heavy.
Question:	Is the top smooth for writing? How does it does it do with cleaning? Heat? Water
Answer:	The top is not smooth enough for writing on, I would put something down first. Cleaning the table top is fine with no problems, I would not put something hot directly on top of the table, nor would I use too much water on the table. A little water, I don't think would hurt the table top.

Answer:	The wood on the tabletop is stained and sealed both. It's very well built and I just love mine! I don't think you would be disappointed.
Question:	What is the fabric like on the chairs? My cat tends to dig his claws in unless the fabric is smooth like a fake suede
Answer:	It's a linen like material. I also have a cat that likes to scratch but for some reason she hasn't been scratching this. In fact she likes to curl up & sleep on the seats.
