An adult could sit on the bench sideways for a bit...and perhaps a small adult could eat at it. ..but It's lower to the ground and much smaller scale than normal size picnic table. My adult daughter is small..and under 5 ft..and can sit on it to eat. But a tall adult would probably not be comfortable sitting at it.It is an awesome table designed for young children.
