Answer:	While the chairs' arms can be removed, you would be sacrificing the engineering integrity of the chair and the back would likely break and fall off.

Answer:	19 inches deep 21.5 wide. Be aware that the front of the seat is much higher than the rear, putting pressure under your thighs. I had to resort to a foot rest to raise my legs up. Also it seems like a spring moved or broke in the seat after 3 months, and it is slightly uncomfortable with less cushioning in one part. I would not buy it again or recommend it. I would have returned it, if it wouldn't have been such a pain to disassemble and get back in the box.
