Answer:	From the center of the clamp, you have a distance of 3.5 inches to the outside edge of the table. If you are concerned about whether you have enough overhang on the table, you need to add another full inch to accommodate the total length of the clamp that fits under the counter...you need 4.5 -5.0 of clearance under the counter. The board is still MDF, but maybe it can be sealed to reduce off-gassing or left out of your home for a few days. MDF is always a concern for VOC and formaldehyde emiting.
