Answer:	I had the same question. Gave the benefit of the doubt and bought it, thinking the identification mark would have to be on there somewhere (isn't that law?) But no. I can find no further info on this, so it seems they don't want it known, which is not confidence inspiring and seems to indicate deceptive practices. Between this, and the fact that it has a really remarkably bad persistent plastic odor even after washing several times, I have to say that I regret buying this, and would not buy it again. They really should be putting this number on it. I can only assume it's not good news that they don't, no?

Answer:	Yes, in fact I threw a pitcher of water in the microwave to see if it could take the heat and I was able to bring he water to a low boil. When I removed it, I observed where the handle meets the body was a bit soft and I wouldn't suggest doing that a lot...but it was fine.
