Answer:	If you are going to get a bunkie instead of a traditional box spring the mattress should be 8" and up. I purchased the steel bunkie platform and a 6" mattress it works for us because my son is only two and thos way he can't fall out but as he gets older will add another mattress on top. I think If you want it to look like the picture you will need a traditional box spring and the 8inch mattress at least. Hope this helps! But the bed is awesome my son loves it!

Answer:	8 inch mattress fits well, the footboard is still an inch or two above the mattress just like in the picture
Question:	What is the height of the bed frame from the ground
Answer:	Roughly 18 1/2 inches. So enough room to put your shoes under. I’ve stored my printer underneath it.
Question:	Can one person assemble this
Answer:	Yes 1 person can assemble this bed frame. Much quicker with 2. By myself it took about 90 minutes, with myself and daughter it took 20 minutes. Make sure you note the difference in the screws. Shorter go to the headboard. You will find them all in one bag. The instructions are easy to follow, (they are all pictures) but it doesn't clearly note the screws.
