Question:	Does the midbeam support need to be lengthwise down the bed? Or would a sideways beam work
Answer:	It has to be lengthwise. It's two sets of slats and the support beam needs to be down the middle. IMO I don't recommend these at all. Better off with a cheaper brand because these aren't like the better quality ones they used to sell. These tend to slide all around, slats falling partially down causing support issues.
