Answer:	None that is visible. It would take some strength to fold the box spring to its original position. The cover is open and when the box spring is snapped into position, the cover is zipped closed. We like them very much.

Answer:	No. It's a box spring. It drops into a frame just like any other box spring.

Question:	I would like to construct this with the slats a bit closer together- and then add an additional slat. Is that possible, or is the slat position fixed
Answer:	It would be a lot of work. Each slat rests on the side frame. One wider long piece of wood under it and then a second piece on top of that (narrower) with a niche carved out to position each slat. It would be easier to simply add a few extra slats.
Question:	Could this be used with a memory foam mattress
Answer:	Unless you put a sheet of plywood over it I wouldn't use it for a memory foam mattress. I haven't used it with one, but I have a feeling that the struts across the top would either puncture or sink into the memory foam. What you see is actually a cover that just goes over the frame itself. It's just cloth.

Answer:	It works great on my 78 Merc 240d. But I had to open the holes some to accept the shaft. You must have clearence to accept the center shaft.

Answer:	I replaced mine with these with excellent results. I have a W115 75 240 D. Don't attempt this without the spring compressor specifically designed for these model cars. Seriously. Even then you have to carefully plan the approach and adjust the tool and there are some tricks. Well worth the repair though. Your car will sit taller, like new. With the springs out, other worn out rubber components will be accessible. Replace all of those you can.
Question:	Will this work on a grand marquis front coils? Are the plates big enough
Answer:	I've only use the tool once on a 1988 260E and it fit perfectly. It listed the models that it fits so does your have aftermarket lower control arms? Maybe you could open up the hole with a grinder a little. good luck sorry I don't have a better answer.
