Answer:	You cannot replace the emmc but you can add a m.2 SATA SDD. There is an M.2 slot on this notebook which is accessible when you remove bottom. Many people have done this. Go out to youtube where there are multiple tutorials. I did this with the 14" version of this notebook with a 500 gb SSD. I then cloned the emmc drive to the SSD and made the SSD my primary drive. Great and cheap upgrade which added a lot of speed and storage. If you do not want to spend much there are some decent 128 gb m.2 SATA SSDs out there for $35 - $40.

Answer:	It takes some time to remove the ski rack. Someone mentioned a security screw but mine did not have them. However, its just not that quick to remove and unless your leaving them in the system overnight you wouldnt have anything to worry about. The risk reward is just too low to spend 15-20 minutes trying to remove a ski rack that you are unfamiliar with for a bunch of used ski/snowboard equipment.
