And the material on the underneath is just a peice of fabric stapled on (like most are) so that's not exactly something that can be kept clean if resting directly on the floor. And if you have real hardwood I'd worry about the staples scratching the floor.

Answer:	The lid totally stays open. In fact it has to be pushed rather forcefully to close. I have young grandchildren who play in and on it all of the time, and I never worry about their safety.

Answer:	This does not hold ANY weight. Made of cheap, thin plywood. The cross bars "shattered" under the weight of our 3 year old (about 30 lbs at the time). I wouldn't allow any adults to sit on it. Waste of "extra seating" for sure.

Answer:	I don’t think it is leather. But it has a nice finish. Dirt collects in the tufts however and is somewhat difficult to get out. It is a pretty, sturdy bit of furniture. We are big people and it is holding up well.

Answer:	I just checked. The legs will not unscrew. They appear to be fixated. I looked inside also and do not see any access bolts/screws to allow removal.
