| Answer: | Microsoft's official policy and recommendation is that while driving to Best Buy to purchase a replacement Logitech Ergo K860 keyboard and MX Master 2S mouse (they use a single Unifying USB dongle); you simply toss your Sculpt keyboard, mouse, and number pad out the window at 80 MPH. It is highly recommended that you do so out of sight of the authorities and small children. In all seriousness, my coworker snapped the dongle off her laptop within the first 30 days of ownership. I could not bring myself to toss the keyboard, mouse and number pad for over a year before I simply threw it into the trash. Correct, not the recycle. Trash. Then I spit on them. My Sculpt keyboard, mouse and number pad are doing fine after almost 4 years and I like them very much. I have been a vocal and staunch user of advocate of Microsoft keyboards for over 25 years; however, I cannot in good conscience recommend buying this particular set until Microsoft either A) changes the form factor of the dongle to be ultra-low profile (like the aforementioned Logitech Unifying Receiver); B) makes them replaceable via Customer Support by supplying proof of purchase and the serial number; C) does both (duh, obviously!). |
