Answer:	Hi Lynda, instead of metal grommets along the top for the curtain hooks, there are machine-made, thread-wrapped button-holes just like button-holes on a shirt. The entire top edge is double-fabric plus interfacing in between so it's not like the button-holes will sag, fray, or tear easily, I am a seamstress and can tell this is a well-made fabric curtain. As for color, I have the Sage color curtain and it is completely opaque, not see-thru at all. :-)

Answer:	The package did not say. It's very thin type towel material but like synthetic material, not cotton, and too narrow for an adult body to fit on. It's long, but when you try to roll it out, the cloth sticks together, and won't lay flat without a lot of smoothing. Also, so thin, that it does nothing as far as comfort. I ordered a padded, fold out mat. It works much better.

If you were looking for a small bathmat, it could work as they are very absorbent, especially if you were planning on changing it and washing after each use for sanitary reasons. Answer:	no magnets, but the curtain is heavy enough that not required. i have had up now for more than 2 months and no mildew. love it

Answer:	I haven't had this very long, but I have learned over my long 70 years how to keep any shower curtain clean so I don't have to clean it often. First of all, I use Miracle II liquid soap which does not leave soap scum anywhere in the tub or shower. Next, I always open the curtain all the way to let it dry out as fast as possible. If you don't, the mildew will grow black or orange spots and brown clouds on it. If that happens, I usually recommend putting bleach and water in the tub and soaking the curtain in there and brushing it with an old toothbrush if necessary. This Maytex curtain is such heavy plastic though that I expect to just wipe it like a wall with diluted vinegar on a towel.

Answer:	I bought the brushed nickel and have been very happy. I would buy again if I ever need to. I've had for a year now and they are NOT rusting. I do live in an apt so they have simple plastic cover that goes over my rusty rod. Then you're all good! I have not had any rusting once you buy that always rolls around great. Just run a rag over the whole thing sometimes to avoid dust and other stuff that can gum up the rollers. And I have not done often enough and mine are all good. I know you only buy one time and do NOT take off or you will have to buy a new one. It is a thin plastic. Imagine a paper towel roll slice up longways and snap around. I bought at WalMart. I cannot imagine how on earth they ship without cracking but then again they ship those long florescent light bulbs. Good Luck! This is the greatest idea to be able to change your liner and wash curtain without fighting with it! Awesome idea! Wish I thought of it instead of just fighting with it!

Question:	Does this have the magnets at the bottom of the curtain
Answer:	I have found that spraying it down with that daily shower cleaner after every shower really helps, you just spray it lightly and don't rinse. It does have to be after every use to really work though, so if you have a large family it may be a bit much. Scrubbing Bubbles makes a daily shower spray. And there are generic versions. If you notice a pink tinge or stain then there's rust, either in the water itself or the pipes. Lime Away works beautifully. I use Tilex mold and mildew spray every time I clean the bathtub, and then during spring and autumn cleaning I throw it in the washer with some old towels and vinegar to remove the hard water film we get around here. If you can afford it, a water softener solves a lot of these issues. My parents have one, and I hope to one day have disposable income for things like that. It sounds like a bit much but I'm allergic to mold so my entire house can be a complete disaster, and yet the bathroom, laundry room and the area around the kitchen sink will be spotless. Good luck.

Some people hang up the shower curtain and turn on a fan to air out the smell, while others hang their shower curtain outside until the smell is gone. This helps, but many of those chemical gases are detected for days, weeks and sometimes longer. Washing the shower curtain is a bad idea, since heat and detergents could release toxins more quickly. (Always follow care instructions when you're cleaning plastics or vinyl.) But not all shower curtains that contain vinyl are toxic. Vinyl is used with a lot of other chemicals to create a number of compounds. The culprit is polyvinyl chloride (PVC)-dubbed The Plastic Poison-and PVC is often listed as "vinyl" on packaging, making this whole issue a little complicated. As a rule of thumb, unless you absolutely know a shower curtain is not PVC, don't buy it.Dangerous ToxinsIn 2008, three researchers examined PVC shower curtains sold at five major retailers: Bed, Bath & Beyond, Kmart, Sears, Target and Wal Mart. In their final report, Volatile Vinyl: The New Shower Curtain's Chemical Smell, the researchers found that the shower curtains "contain avoidable toxic chemicals including volatile organic compounds (VOCs), phthalates, organotins and metals." The study found that PVC shower curtains can release up to 108 VOCs, and seven of the compounds detected in the study are on the EPA's list of hazardous air pollutants. VOCs can damage the liver, central nervous system, respiratory system, reproductive system, and can contribute to developmental damage. Some are suspected or known to cause cancer in humans. On a day-to-day level, they can cause eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches, nausea and loss of coordination.Toluene and ethylbenzene, two of the chemicals released by the shower curtains tested, are on California's Proposition 65 list of chemicals known by the State to cause cancer or reproductive toxicity. Under Prop. 65, businesses must not "knowingly and intentionally" expose people to these chemicals without giving "clear and reasonable warning."High levels of phthalates were also found in the shower curtains examined-which is a problem because phthalates are a pretty unstable chemical. Phthalates migrate in the shower curtain itself, eventually making their way to the surface. When they evaporate into the air, they cling to dust in your home. Phthalates are linked to reproductive problems, including premature labor in pregnant women, early breast development in girls, and sperm damage in boys. The study also found that some of the chemicals lingered in the air for more than four weeks, which is a long time to be breathing in toxins. And the concentrations were also a concern. The total VOCs detected were 16 times the U.S. Green Building Council's recommended guidelines. Researchers did not look at the effect of heat and humidity on the shower curtains, but the authors did admit it is likely the heat and humidity would increase the levels of VOCs and other toxins being released into the air-making your showers all the more toxic.Avoiding PVC Shower CurtainsResearchers went looking for policy on phasing out PVC and found out that many retailers are planning to offer more PVC-free shower curtains, but they won't be phasing them out completely. Look for shower curtains made with PEVA, or polyethylene vinyl acetate, a stable vinyl product that is not associated with any health problems and does not contain any hazardous air pollutants. Where can you get it? Many of Ikea's shower curtains are made with PEVA. (Ikea banned PVC in 1991, so it's a great place to shop for shower curtains.) If you want to completely eliminate the health concerns associated with vinyl and plastics, you can install a rain showerhead and an organic cotton shower curtain, without a liner. Rain showerheads drop water straight down without too much pressure, eliminating splash. (And they're oh-so-calming; try it once and you may never want to go back!) If you can't live without a strong spray, your best option is to install glass doors rather than having a shower curtain. It's a little pricy, but consider it an investment in your health.
