In general I was not happy with this product, the brand name engraved on the front is ugly and you can’t just turn it around because the opposite side has the opening. Also the top of mine cracked after a couple weeks. I didn’t drop it or anything, I think the wood just expanded due to temperature. Would not buy again.

Answer:	I don't think it is steel, but it is metal with a chrome finish. I'm really happy with mine - I have a lot of Mid-Century Modern furniture and it fits right in. Unlike others I have had, it is lighter weight which makes it easier to replace the tissue box.

Answer:	I don't think so. My tissue box cover is in my bathroom where it is subject to lots of steam from hot showers. After a little more than a year, I've not seen so much as an outline of the holder on my counter top.
Question:	Are the first several tissues from a full box ripped when pulled out
Answer:	Sometimes; but, it's a function of the way the tissues are factory-packed/folded into the cardboard box and have to be pulled through its plastic opening at the midpoint of the fold. The ripping has nothing to do with the nu steel tissue box. Suggest pulling the first several tissues from the cardboard box before covering it with the nu steel.
Question:	since the edges are sharp, does it scratch the counter top
Answer:	Nice quality tissue dispenser but it will scratch your surfaces if your not careful. I mean very careful.

Answer:	If it's a 'roll' of paper towels, as those used in the kitchen= the answer is NO. If it's a box of those folded, sometimes blue or grey; then possibly = if the box and the size of the towels are the same size as a regular sized box of facial tissues.
Question:	Can the ugly advertising on the side be removed
Answer:	Mine didn’t come with any advertising on it.
