The tub drain screws right into your existing drain fitting and it came with an adaptor to fit a slightly smaller existing tub drain if you have that size. As for the air vent cover, it simply has a large screw that goes right through the center and screws right into the existing bracket in the hole through the tub. The cover comes with the new screw so you don't need any of your old hardware. Easy to install, cheap, and they look beautiful!
Question:	It is definitely stainless steel? Packaging just says "brushed nickel". Has anyone tested with bleach to see if it rusts

DIY Installation Steps:



**you need plumber’s putty for installation**



First Step: Let’s remove your old drain.



First put your old turn & lift drain in the down position. Twist to the left until the top piece comes off.



Put a pair of plyers inside the drain.



Use a wrench to grab the plyers and twist to the left. Keep going until the drain is out.



You’ll find a rubber black washer under the tub where the drain was. Remove that and discard it. Completely clean up the drain with a wet rag and let it dry. Second Step: Let’s remove the top and insert washer.



Just like last time, put the new turn & lift drain in the down position. Twist to the left until the top piece comes off. DON’T LOSE TOP PIECE



Take the new, black rubber washer and slip it under the tub. You want this piece to be as straight as possible.



Third Step:



Take a medium sized ball of plumbers putty. Roll it on the tub until it is straight like a straw. Put it around the base of the drain, (above the bushing and the threading).



Put the drain into the tub and fit it along the threading. Turn using the wrench and plyers like you used to take out the old drain. Just twist to the right this time.



(A lot of the plumbers putty will come out and that’s perfect, just rub it off.)



Twist the top piece that you removed earlier back in.



That's it! Should take 10-15 minutes to complete.

Answer:	Yes, it will fit a 2" tub opening. Our drain fill all standard tub openings. (Make sure you have Plumber's Putty and check out the video in our description before installing!
Question:	Is it normal to have water pooling around the flanges/lip/ rim after shower
Answer:	Yes this is normal since the drain does not recess into the tub to be perfectly flat. The lip that is formed from the drain holds some water.

Question:	I found the filter to not collect the hairs, instead I have clumps of hair around my bathtub. Is there any fix for this
Answer:	Made of flexible Thermo-Plastic-Rubber.

Answer:	There’s no suction. The flow of water keeps it mostly in place during showering

Answer:	Ha! The easiest way to clean it is with a tweezer. The little pointy things are very close together(which is why it catches the hair so good).
Question:	can it work with pop-up bath tub drains
Answer:	A dog could certainly move it depending on how active it is, but if it isn't touched it stays in place. It doesn't float up and float away like some do.
Question:	How do you clean these? I'm having the worst time getting lint and hair off of these
Answer:	This drain protector is much heavier than the flimsy ones you get at the big box stores. They in my opinion those nasty would have a hard time, but I would be checking for a hole in my pipe. They shouldn't be coming up like that.
Question:	does it have suction to keep it in place or does it slide around
Answer:	The dimensions shown are 4.5x4.5x2. It fits over my Kohler pop-up drain and it is working quite well at catching hair.
Question:	Can this product be placed upside down to go over a pop-up tub drain
Answer:	I tried both and liked this one better. The tubshroom worked but wouldn't clean and quickly got too gross to use. This one worked well for us, i.e. stays in place, catches all the hair, lets water through and cleans up to like new. Maybe it has to do with sink or tub shape?

Question:	Does it cover the type of drain that has a handle that turns right to left for opening and closing? My tub is form the 1940s
Answer:	I didn’t get it either?! Or the Hand Made labels...not happy about it.
Question:	When the tub is filling, water pours through the hole on the top. What is the best way to prevent this? Or does it not matter
Answer:	I left mine out overnight and they were dry in the am.

Answer:	Yes you can use your own oils. We recommend using high quality essential oils when adding scents of your own. Some less expensive oils have additives that can be hard on the plastic molds.
