At max air intensity, with the acupressure rollers off, it just rubs my feet with not much pressure (for scale, I wear men's 10.5 shoes, and am tall and skinny). My calves are relatively skinny, so the fit is not great, it will not cover the whole of your calves very well. With the acupressure rollers on, and at max intensity for both settings, it can be rather painful, close enough at times to feel the need to shutdown immediately (though not as painful as some other other popular devices which felt like some damage might be done at max).
