This listing shows the d-alpa tocopherol (Vitamin E), after the natural orange flavor. As such it's quantity is minimal as flavors are normally a very small amount of the total formula. Therefore, the purified arctic cod liver oil is overwhelmingly the near total constituent of the formula. As a former pharmaceutical executive of manufacturing of final pharmaceutical products, I believe I have the credentials to provide this opinion. Flavors, vitamins and preservatives normally contribute a very small percentage of the final product. Hope this helps!

Answer:	For me it's ok to add what they did. Here is why. Retinyl is very well absorbed. Vitamin A refers to nutrients which are categorized into two specific groups: retinoids and carotenoids. Retinoids=in animal products. The retinyl palmitate is preformed Vitamin A. I assume the Vitamin D is also in a form that works really well. I care about the V. A most and adding more of it than even is naturally found in Cod Liver Oil is good news for me. Maybe that's why the company chose to add. Some companies add the retinyl; others do not. NOW brand has the same two vitamins in the same form, added.

Answer:	The label gives the following information. Vitamin A (from cod oil and retinyl parmitate) 850 IU. Vitamin D3 (from cod liver oil andcholecalciferol) 400 IU. Vitamin E (as d-alpha tocopherol and mixed tocopherols). These amounts a per teaspoon. I take a tablespoon every day so these amounts would be tripled. I also take about 8000 IU vitamin E every day from various other supplements.Also 400 IU vitamin E as mixed tocopherols. Hope this helps.

Answer:	Yes, just today cracked open a bottle that had been in storage for 1.75 years, and, sadly, it's rancid. Have to wonder how weather affected it in spite of being sealed. Would love to know if there's any sort of backup guarantee for this. The freshness date stamped on the bottle indicates it should have been good for two more years, so am pretty disappointed.

Answer:	The bottle is 2 fluid ounces/60 millimeters. I give my 17-pound cat 1.0 ml a day. That's how long it lasts for me. So it matters how small or large the animal. Answer:	It doesn't specify, but I would say it's likely farmed. There are Cod farms in Norway, and I would think that farmed Cod would be the only way to source a reliable supply for the Cod liver oil.
Question:	What is the Vitamin A amount
Answer:	As per manufacturer, molecular distillation, though they don't elaborate. Deodorization has replaced molecular distillation as the primary processing method in most of the Norwegian mills, yet some people seem to use the terms interchangeably so who knows for sure. Either way, the product is heated up, and most of the nutrients are lost. As a last step, most of the mills add synthetic vitamins back in. It is rare, but there is at least one Norwegian cod mill which puts natural nutrients back into the oil after the processing. I doubt Carlyle sources from this mill, because (a) their price is too low, and (b) they list synthetic ingredients on the bottle. I have submitted this question to the manufacturer and would love to hear back from them.

Answer:	I've stuck with this brand for a while. The most economical! I eat plenty of fish also. Taking this every day(I only take 2 a day instead of the recommended 3) gives you a consistent level of fish oil(I don't eat fish every day). I think if you google the vitamin A amount in this product(255-900I.U) you'll see that's not a high dose at all.

I have been using it for years and it doesn't bother me at all. I guess if you are adverse to fish taste, stick with the gel caps. But if you want good quality and with dha/epa that exceeds most caps and gels, get this product.
