As a former pharmaceutical executive of manufacturing of final pharmaceutical products, I believe I have the credentials to provide this opinion. A most and adding more of it than even is naturally found in Cod Liver Oil is good news for me. Maybe that's why the company chose to add. Some companies add the retinyl; others do not. Now 60 yrs later I still take it and swear by it and other thought out additives to my diet. I rarely get sick. I usually only take them Mon. thru Fri. I find I get rid of extra in my system over the weekend and then it's like a kick start on Monday. Works for me. Everyone is different. Watch you levels of A & D. If you want to take this don't add extra A&D separately. However, a multi-vitamin the levels are usually reasonable with the Cod liver oil and other suppliments but I watch excess. Answer:	According to their literature, yes it is. You can send for a certificate of authenticity from them.

Answer:	they have a yellowish haze to them as opposed to being clear with no color. this is because of the cod liver oil. if you hold the pill in your hand you can see your finger through it.

Question:	Are you supposed to eat this? And if so, how do you use it in your food
Answer:	Yes I can confirm it helps grow back bone as long as you have calcium in your everyday diet. I took xrays at my dentist which showed I needed 4 cavities. After taking the cod liver oil for 6 months all the cavities had gone away, my sensitivity and pain had gone away and my new xrays baffled my dentist and parents because it showed I did not have the cavities anymore.

Answer:	I don't notice any problem with it. I tried a flavored (caramel), non-pill (solid at room temp) form that I figured I could add to hot drinks. Now that was a bad idea! If you are bothered by the fishy taste/smell, simply refrigerate or even freeze. By the time it thaws/dissolves, it should be pretty far along in your digestive tract. Hope this helps!

Answer:	The label on the back of the bottle says that the vitamin D3 is from cod liver oil. It also says that the vitamin A is from cod liver oil. It doesn't seem likely that the vitamins were removed and then added back in. Either way, they're not synthetic.

Answer:	No this product is not tested on animals in fact no Mrs. Meyer's products are ever tested on animals. They are derived from natural ingredients and never include parabens, phthalates, glycol solvents, formaldehyde or artificial colors. It does say to keep away from children and animals but I imagine that is merely for safety.
